But then again Jay did call out Nas on some hardbody shyt. Took balls to do that. Look at how shook rappers are these days to call out one another. Wayne, Ross, Ye... all these guys afraid to call out dudes on top cause they all feel like they got too much to lose... when in fact goin against the best and winning is what cements your legacy. Jay and Nas BOTH upped their legacies after that battle.

If someone wanted to they could bring it to Jay right now and dust his old ass but they shook. Wayne been sellin more than him for almost a decade now he coulda BEEN shytted on Jay when they were goin through their little back and forth but he never did. Smh.

Jay is LUCKY these cats are all soft cause all they do is claim king without ever goin for the crown.

good post...
yet, we can not give jay cred for calling out nas.
when,..
originaly, nas called out jay for months, on end in the old mixtape era.

jay never called out anyone, on record.
besides, jayo felony, deshawn stevenson and the guy from harlem world.

I'm just going by public opinion / critics... Reasonable doubt / blueprint are universal classics.. FACT...... Ready to Die / Life after death are universal classics.... FACT

Ready to die >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Reasonable doubt in every way (impact, sales etc)

Life after death >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Blueprint in every way (Impact, sales etc)

Jay can't win against the greats..... It's something ANY unbiased person will acknowledge:yeshrug:
Again these are not facts ur presenting

They are opinions

Numbers are the only facts in this game my G

Also using ur game Biggie was never the top dude in all of hip hop during his run...so wat is u sayin :what:

By that logic..Biggie isnt a great

Oh my god you're a loser.

If you GOOGLE "Top hiphop albums" these albums are classics by the top 10 search results on google and other publications (source, xxl etc)

If you don't want this to be FACT, you put in money to create your own mag or get a link on the first page of google (exactly, shut the fukk up)

Besides that, Biggie had the best selling album in 1994 and 1997 numb nuts (2 titles in 3 years... Jay 0 titles in 20 years...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_hip_hop_albums_in_the_United_States

YOOOOO .... somebody please come help this dude... He's trying desperately to defend Jay but it's embarassing at this point lol... somebody help this man.

Yep.... And he leaves out, the MOST IMPORTANT numbers.

Eminem = Most albums sold all time with a MUCH better average (he averages over DOUBLE per album Jay sales)

12 #1 albums is the most useless stat in HISTORY of anything (not just music).... Graduation? #1 album ... American Gangster? #1 Album.... Curtis? #2 Album.... Curtis sold more than American Gangster.....

You can say Jay probably strategically never releases his albums against any competition so he can keep that smoke and mirrors "12 #1 albums" streak going.... He go head up against Drake he getting his ass bust... Go head up against Eminem he getting his ass bust... Go head up against Wayne he getting his ass bust...

It's all a facade people:pachaha:
so we gonna act like blueprint 1 wasn't heavily pirated , which lead them to push up the release date by 2 weeks since it was so bootlegged..dropped on the same day the towers did and was STILL #1? (vs fabs first album iirc) <> hov :salute:

Actually if Im not mistaken..beastie boys actually outsold Ready to die in 94...alot of those sales came post his death which shouldnt really count because they dont tell of the living running career of artist

Again ur whole Op was this whole campaign on factsonly

What u see as credible opinions can never be considered facts

I repeat..no type of opinion can be considered fact

So like i said..by ur "logic" Biggie is not a great because while he was living he never held the top spot in hip hop(Sales wise)

I also gave Jay 2 classics when I said thats a fact.... So, cool, Jay has no classics.... If we play the NUMBERS GAME, Jay loses all day? You want to do that? Awesome, even worse for Jay.. You're an imbecile:obama:

Biggie album was released in 1994, and has the most sales, PERIOD. Now you want to start talking about "most sales came after death"...

All life after death sales came after death, so lets say he sold zero copies of LAD:mjpls:

Yall looking mad desperate at this point... It's amusing.

Not even going to respond to non sense no more (like disputing LAD, ready to die, reasonable doubt, blueprint = classics)

Most of Reasonable doubt sales came after Jay blew up 10 years later, so. it's not Platinum:banderas:

Give it up Jr.

I don't care how, why, or when an album reached it's numbers... Only way to judge is based off year it was released and total current sales. nikka making up new factors:lawd:

nikka ur whole Op was about jay never beeing #1 at any time period...if most of Big's sales for his 94 album came 3 years after 94 and he was behind another artist in sales at 94..that means he wasnt the #1 guy at 94 u idiot

The talk of classics is all opinion I thought we talkin facts only my G

Anyways case and point...based on ur "logic" Biggie , Nas and Jay Z are not greats because they never held the top spot(Sales Wise) in any year

Correct??

Pac = top 10 selling hiphop album of all time
Big = top 10 selling hiphop album of all time
Eminem = top 10 selling hiphop album of all time

Jay's best comes in at #15 (hard knock life, 5 mil)... And he never reached even 4 mil since.... Pac and Big reached 4 mil multiple times at 24 years old, Jay is 43.

He's not CLOSE to their level.

Men lie, women lie, numbers don't.

Pac = Dominated 1996
Big = Dominated 1994 and 1997
Eminem = Dominated 2000 and 2002

Jay = Never dominated even ONE year in 20 years....

#factsOnly... The numbers tell it, not me.

nikka got backed into a corner and now he switching subjects :heh:

nikka in ur OP u said..all greats have been #1 at some point

and ur argument was that Jay never held the top spot at any year in hip hop

U went in the route of facts(sales)

With that same "logic" I also showed u that Nas and Big arent greats as well because they never held the top spot in any year during their careers :umad:

said in my first post Jay isnt the GOAT for me, in my humble opinion he could never be above or better than Biggie, I dont need a list of hip hop albums and stats to qualify that shyt either.

thread title says devils advocate, so i thought you was looking to build, but your a dude who says an emcee with a run in the game (for your bullshyt sports analogies) like jay has had and as long as jay has been in the game, (not everyone can be a 1st round draft pick, for some people its all about timing) doesnt deserve a shout in "goat" discussions...

but my bad you aint looking to discuss shyt...
