Magic has at least 5% of the Dodgers and he fully knows the role for the organization. I thought Jay had at least 5% of the Nets the way he was braggin' in his rhymes and shyt.

5, Im fighting that. I need proof. Maybe he has a %of 5%. That would be a nice chunk if he has the entire 5%

Edit: http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-b...nson-pay-share-dodgers-50-225152201--mlb.html

He owns a lil over 2%
there is nothing lowkey about it.

everyone knows this?

Nah, most people act like Magic is some genius. Like everything is his idea. Most of those companies go to him, and break him off.

there is a genius about making millions off your name and having some ownership tho?

Put it like this, who does Magic work for? You really cant say that about any other ex-athlete. He set up a blueprint in leveraging his name and cache to businesses, and is the first of his kind to do something like this.

It aint like Magic signed up with Wrangler jeans or Wolverine boots. He and his team knows who to target and what to get out of them, in order for him to say "buy this" or "go here."

lol did he actually say this? Old and petty.

"Yeah I got caught frontin but its still more than you 'nikkas' have" :camby:
:heh: So lames like you who hate on him for not owning a big percentage of the team aren't petty? What exactly was he "frontin" about? Regardless of how little of the team he actually owned, he was an owner who enjoyed a lot of the perks.I could never be a hater because it prevents you from being consistent and it requires a loser's mentality. I'm waaay too arrogant to ever hate on the next cat.

The LI
Im Gonna Sound Like A Hater Just Cause Im A Knicks Fan But The Nets Look Like Clowns

So Now Their Drunk Driving Coach Has Ownership In The Team? Is He Above The GM? Can He Still Be Fired? How's That Work?

When It Comes Time To Sell Is Jason Kidd Gonna Sell His Piece To The Excited Fat Kid In the Infamous Nets Gif?

fat-kid-celebrates.gif

Or Maybe Kenny Anderson

What A Joke..

If Kidd sucks (which is highly possible, to me our Assistants run the team starting with Frank) I don't think Prok would have any issues firing his ass. Not like he can use his .067 to throw his weight around. Prok would jus hit em wit da :camby:

Jay Z was nothing more than a "keep the natives appeased and happy while we overpromise and try to get this gentrification model up and running" face.
It would be shame on the "natives" if that worked. If it was a bad deal and cats only went along with it because Jay Z was somehow involved then that's on them and their ignorance. If Ratner and his group have failed to follow through on the promises that were made to get the natives to go along with the building of the arena(affordable housing, ect), then Ratner, his team, and Jay Z should be called out and held responsible. I doubt that Jay Z had anything to do with the real work that was done to get that arena built, but he has arrogantly taken credit and some ownership of the Barclays project so he should be held partly accountable for promises to the people not being kept if that's the case.

Since you're being honest, what's funny about hating on somebody who seemingly never loses? I'm just trying to understand the pay off for being a Jay Z hater. This is why I call some of you masochists. The type cats who like pain. I bet you watch James Bond movies and root for the villain too huh? :pachah:

Agreed. They promised 10,000 full time jobs with the project but it ended up producing 1,000 part time jobs. And the affordable housing they promised to build along with the planned sixteen 52 story buildings around the arena is put "on hold." Ratner is waiting for all the natives to move out the area so he doesn't have to worry about that.

Jay Z bragging about owning the Nets makes him complicit. He's a part of the machine turning BK into a corny hipster ass borough with no character.

Sinc eyoure being honest, here's another question. Isn't the whole "I hate for the laughs" shyt lame as fukk? Why willfully be a lame?

Yea, if what you're saying is true(which I don't doubt) then Jay Z needs to be called out and made to answer. I remember hearing dude calling the Barclays "his house" during one of the concerts opening up the arena and I wondered had all the promises been kept. Cats writing articles about what Jay said to Belafonte but this is the real shyt that the public should be made aware of. I would love to see how he would respond to you BK cats making some noise about this.

Naw. Theres levels to this shyt. Lame to me is the dikkriding that goes on. If I see a joke I tell it, just like anybody else. Why should Jay Z be off limits? People make fun of rappers all day every day but its usually relegated to "So and so is broke, his album went polyester"...thats lame to me cuz its been done literally a million times.

And its not like I'm secretly a Jay Z fan just trying to be cool lol. I really do think he's a calculating cornball who makes wack music.

Ok 2% it is then.. yeah Magic is loved my the general population and he really knows how to market this. He's definitely one of the most successful former athletes out there but I think he is slightly overrated business wise. I heard a rumor once that Keyshawn Johnson, who also develops shopping center projects and such in the LA area, said, "don't spill your business ideas/plans/projects around Magic, he'll steal that shyt in a heartbeat".

He was influential in bringing a team to Brooklyn. As a BK cat Hov gets props from me :yeshrug:

Would have been happier if he convinced Lebaron to come though.

:what:

How?

Bruce Raetner owned half of downtown BK a few blocks away from the arena since the 90s. He's been going after downtown BK for YEARS. The arena isn't even Rateners big catch. He used the arena to get the sixteen 52 story buildings built and turn BK into Manhattan!

:heh:

Yall niqqas don't know jack about here to say that trash bruh.
