Let's face it people, I think Jay is a great artist and all but if Jay did not have the millions of cash on hand and if was not a business genius, do you really think he would have sold that many albums? Dude got a "Corporation" to purchase the music, not the fans.
Now selling 500,000 thousand or whatever the number is, is an amazing feat because of the fans. But a corporation buying a million records is just a business deal.
On a related note: I just purchased the Black Album yesterday as the album has finally grown on me

I just don't get the anger or resentment, maybe one of you can clarify. What's you all's problem with the Samsung deal? So what he got a corporation to buy the records, why does that bother you? How can I be a so called fan that doesn't buy the music when I copped the Black album recently? I probably buy more records that you download for free. I don't have a prob with the Samsung deal but what I said was it was a "Corporation" who purchased the music and not the fans. The fans are the ones who really count and support you. Once you take the decision making process out of the fans, then the soul of hip hop continues to be slowly sucked out of the equation.
Its great to have money and all, but the fans are the reason why this artform exists.

The only fans that count are the ones who show support to the artists/music. All the lames that run around here constantly hating complaining while they do nothing but steal the music don't count. fukk 'em.
