Because these are subtle bars, shyt that you'll hear while Jay flowing over a beat and you're like "ok he's spitting," then revisit the song days/months/years later and go "oh shyt, that's what he was saying?!" It's not like a song where you're trying your hardest to be intricate and "deep" ala this Budden song you posted.

Its not really about lyrics going over your head. Its just that sometimes you hear something and then you go "oh sh!t" . Its like you're doing something different than you did years ago and the words are just clearer or since you're done different things in life the meaning is different and just clicks...

Plenty of times now when i'm playing music while at work ... Nas, Jay, Big, Wu, etc...because i'm older, in a different space or just really listening alot of meanings just be like BAM .. especially because alot of Jays line have 2 or 3 meanings
