The beat was produced for Nas and the story goes he was in the studio hearing it and Jay came by to say hi. Just then they heard the Godfather sample and said fukk it lets do it right here. It was never in concrete stone to collabo together after the beef but they knew eventually they would be something that they could both rap on and that submitted wildfyre beat was it.

The black militant sounded forceful and confident focusing on the present, whereas the black Republican sounded winey and unsure of himself while reminiscing about a failed friendship.
