Jay-Z said no rapper can do a Verzuz with him because no one is on his level: “There’s not a chance anyone can stand on that stage with me”

Jay is one of my 🐐’s. Top 2. But he’s delusional if he thinks no MC can do a vz against him. A lot of peers can and keep it close enough to win.

If he battles Nas for example and they hold it at MSG, who does he expect will show up? real hiphop heads who love both, probably in the 35-50 age range.

His commercial hits don’t hold up and won’t be received well in a vz against Nas. He’s not gonna play “hey papi” or “la la la” lol. Empire state of mind is a massive hit, but ny state of mind would absolutely wash it.

the world is yours
ny state of mind
it ain’t hard to tell
if i ruled the world
street dreams
i gave you power
hate me now
nas is like
stillmatic intro
rewind
one mic
made you look
live at the bbq
mo money mo murda
verbal intercourse
eye for an eye
john blaze
its mine

busta got a mean 20, LL got a mean 20, snoop got a mean 20
:laff:

Somewhere tropic...
When everyone better than him lyrically outside of kendrick doesn't have the mainstream appeal, and everyone more successful is weaker lyrically

Nas is the obvious answer but nikkas like to put their heads in the sand and pretend Jay z isn't levels below him lyrically
They gon revert back to the tired "but the hits" argument
like that thinking hasn't been dispelled
As if Change Clothes gon ring off in a Verzuz :mjlol:

Thats not true

Jay-Z has literally ONE number 1 hit on billboard

In terms of quality of music, he has MANY holes in his discography

There are a good amount of rappers that can go song-for-song against HOV. And I say this as someone who likes him

Drake NO.

What's he gonna play after Jay plays Public Service Announcement? Toosie Slide? :dead:

0 to 100 :wow:

Beat drop and then “fukk bein on some chill shyt” crowd would go crazy

Drake and Kanye for sure cooking Jay in a versuz. Jay of course a better lyricist than both but if we going banger for banger/hit for hit Jay not fukking with those two.

0 to 100... nice song.

but that Hotline Bling, Best I Ever Hard shyt would lose against Hov in a Verzuz crowd...

same thing with Kanye, he dont got enough street anthems... this aint a Rolling Loud cac crowd

Okay then it would hve to be a 35-40+ crowd cause the newer generation don’t know Jay records like that other than Empire State of Mind and 99 Problems.

I don’t think many people in the crowd at the No Limit/Cash Money versuz knew a lot of the records other than the big hits but not many of the deep cuts/street records. Crowd plays a big part in Versuz

Once I think about the crowd was more responsive/familiar with the cash money records because yes they had the bigger hits

But the general consensus is NL won

So that's not exactly true
