I’ll say this…There’s others who have done enough or may have more influence but Jay-Z is the benchmark. There’s not anyone else that looms over the way he does at this point

Y'all keep going with this "hits" narrative when we have seen verzuz where the perceived "more popular/more hits" has lost..ex..No Limit vs CM..Dipset vs LOX..
Sometimes those hits that you thought were getting all the radio play don't hit the same in a verzuz..especially when the opponent starts to hit you with shyt, crowd gets into it more than you thought and get you off your game.

It’s kind of incredible how he’s been doing his thing for so long. If LL’s album had been embraced by younger generations I’d say he could put up a fight, but Jay has kind of dwarfed everybody.
When we combine the sometimes ubiquitous peaks of his popularity with his longevity there’s no competition.

But don't the crowd know and like the hits. Let's be realistic here, what hits are the crowd going to be rocking with Nas? You still have to have them regardless. That is why I say hos catalog does not translate well against Jay. People know Jay for his lyrics, swag and hits. Nas vs Ghost would be a hell of a matchup though
