In all fairness to Snake-Z it's not his job to run the careers of his artists...

Your label can only sign you, cut checks & make phone calls. They're not going to do the ground work for you anymore those days are over so now artists are approaching labels with their whole TEAM in place already. Think of a label like a big machine. The big machine used to take care of EVERYTHING related to the artists careers. Nowadays the labels or big machines are basically just signing smaller machines and letting them do ALL the work while they sit back and only provide the oil...

Jay Cole is winning because he surrounded himself with a team of HUSTLERS who are from the bottom so they put in work. Bridget Kelly is a spoiled girl who doesn't want to do anything herself and is surrounded by a bunch of delusional suburban people (her TEAM) who think money is supposed to work by itself. I hate her manager so much... they are truly delusional...

I've actually sat in a meeting at Atlantic with an artist that was still stuck in the 90's way of the industry. He'd been signed to them for 2 years & nobody knows him or cares because he doesn't get out there. I'm like fam you're signed with a budget, you better find your own publicist, pr, video director, engineer, etc because Atlantic is only focused on their A-List Earners, not new artists...

I don't know how familiar y'all are with people of power but this nikka is lazy as fukk and had the audacity to tell fukking KARA DIOGOURDI that he "Demands to have the same type of push" Chris Brown had. When I say that meeting lasted all of 4 sentences I'm telling you these labels don't do shyt...

Really, just like life in general, those who work not just hard but also smart rise to the top. At the same time, again like life, others tend to get more 'lucky' with how things work out. Those people who don't make it were not supposed to make it. Getting 'signed' doesn't mean you deserve to have a career just like getting a good paying job doesn't mean you get to keep it just because you got in.

Nick Young scooped up Iggy & started paying for all her shyt with her own TEAM. Now she's huge & a lot of female & male artists try to hook up with the opposite sex so they can spend THEIR money since these labels have gotten tight with spending.

Big Sean, Kanye, Iggy, Lil Kim (was broke before Scott Storch started dating her cuz she was in debt), Keri Hilson, etc... they all link up with people with money over or equal to them so they can pool their own resources & finances together to fund projects for eachother.

You date on your level... not all but most... it's why Hollywood is such a cesspool now because all the brand new signees all sleep around with eachother and date because they're shook to not be cool with someone who might blow up & they missed out...

All those artists you named have their own teams and the only thing Roc Nation (Good Music/Grand Hustle, etc) does is cut checks and make phone calls like the rest of these "labels" run by nikkas do. It's all about your TEAM. Jay Coles "team" is better organized & put together then Bridget Kelly's "team" which is why he's seeing success & she's not when Jay-Z has given her chance after chance after chance after chance with HUGE budget advances & she's gotten nowhere. For example... Iggy's budget on Grand Hustle was $50,000 when she initially signed. GH is not a big company & a $50,000 advance from a boutique label like it is pretty standard & more then fair because they shop you to bigger labels. Unfortunately over the years she wasted that money on mixtapes & videos etc tryna blow up & nobody cared. Then all of a sudden she starts dating Nick Young & magically she's able to fund big budget videos & snatch up DJ Mustard records & pay for her own engineering, etc... cuz of Nick Young. A lot of artists/celebrities/actors/etc date eachother because they can always pool their resources together.

But anyway, nah... FUKK YOU and you're ALWAYS trying to talk about some shyt you know NOTHING ABOUT. plus, the management side of the company seems to be the main focus and doing a great job with who they have.
look at Rita Ora, nobody cares about her like that but she's everywhere.

the co-sign/signing from Jay made people check for Cole which gave him a quicker lane to grow because eyes were on him but he took the co-sign and built on it and most of the reason for him getting big was all down to himself (people also looking for a new rapper to rival Drake helped but thats for another day).

If I'm not mistaken, she's HUGE in the UK. Like Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga stardom, correct?
