No, Apple offered him an exclusive deal and said no. The way they're adding to TIDAL, it doesn't look like they have any intention of stopping.

Aside from music, they have shows like Money and Violence (obviously), but Cipha Sounds has season 2 of his comedy show debuting tomorrow.

It's also dope how they let you make playlists out of songs and music videos or mix them up. You can even download, live concerts and put it on a play list.

LIstening to Hov's B-sides concert on the subway :wow:

Spotify said last year that they made a profit for the first time, if I remember correctly.

these fools dont know what they're talking about. tidal is a great service and i have no complaints since i got it.

Why are people in here so worried about if Spotify is profitable when investors are dying to get a part of the company? The business is growing quick as fukk, they are making big investments and expanding to different parts of the world, different ventures, collaborations, cars and on. When the cost of those investments slow down, that's when they start making money. I think they increased from 10 million paying user in the summer of 2014 to 30 million today.

What one could worry about is Twitter, which is taking half a billion L's and really no growth while a company in the same business Facebook is making 3-4 billon dollar profits. Twitter is still worth 11 billion bucks though.

Again, his arrogant ass could have done prevented this situation. In business, you should expect that everyone is trying to screw you over. If you got got, especially if you are reckless, that's on you. :yeshrug:

I don't know why you're riding so hard for him when Jay don't give a shyt about you or the community. :francis:

He still fukked with Barneys after those racial profiling incidents, right. :dame::sas1::sas2:
I asked you specific questions and you respond with a bunch of bullshyt. I can only take that dumb shyt wrote to deflect as a "yes" in response to my question. You do give whites a pass for being shady when it comes to blacks you don't particularly like. I haven't said anything to "ride" for Jay Z. That's just your way of tryna deflect from the fact that you're a hater. Dude is playing the game, whether he deserved to "get got" will be determined by the court. I'm more interested in blacks who share your mentality because I think that you're the real c00n here for giving whites a pass just to hate on another black person.

Unless you only shop at black owned businesses then that "he fukked with Barney's shyt" doesn't fly either because all white companies/corporations are racist. At least he got Barney's to break some bread because of that incident. Meanwhile the Asian that you buy your weave from, the Arab running the corner store where you stop at, and the foreigners who cook your food not standing your black ass hasn't stopped you from fukking with them. So get off of your high horse.

I think 2 months is a good amount of time to develop a strategy. I don't think he wanted to sell it asap, but he had to start working quickly so he could start generating revenue.
Long enough to come up with a plan but not long enough to put people in place to execute it

Call me a c00n, yet make assumptions like that. :mjpls:

Sounds like you're projecting your shytty life on to me. :jbhmm::wow:

Nothing the company did was illegal/cooked the books. You'll notice nowhere did he say he was de-frauded or lied to but merely that information was "misrepresented" - i.e. his dumb ass took them at their word. He needs to take that L and charge it to the game because he ain't getting shyt but lawyer fees in court.

And no, I don't ride with people just because we partially shares the same color.

Spotify is built off ad revenue from subscribers

Tidal is built off of exclusive content, technology and events to pull in paying subscribers

They make money in different lanes
This!

The battle is to see which business model is more profitable in the end because no one has figured out how to make money off of streaming.

It's really interesting to watch tbh.

Sup Sweet Thang!
This is how you know this is a hit piece.

Tidal has 3 Million most likely paid subscribers. That's a good thing. Also another artist signed on with them and might be expanding into film like Netflix.

I strongly doubt that most of the Tidal subscribers are paid when they gain most of their subs from the TLOP exclusive release which handed out 3 month free subscriptions. Tidal also said that most of the 3 million subscribers are premium subscribers who have the 19.99 option. Tidal released an article praising how many subs they had and how great the company is doing....but the link to the source is "Tidal".

Wait a minute . . so while trying to convince the general public (consumers and investors) that Tidal is a success, he's suing the company he bought it from because of how bad of a deal it was . . . that makes sense :rudy:

It sounds like he's suing the company for misrepresenting themselves.

Companies sue and get sued all the damn time.

The only reason this hit the press is because competitors are looking for shade so they stalk the courts for info.

If you were to look up Apple or even Spotify you could find they are probably suing for something that could be damaging if the right PR person got ahold of it.

This is only fodder for internet discussion.

I know, which is why threads like these are funny. You got nikkas in here saying he only bought it to sell it 2 months later :russ:

Well I guess I should say 1.35 million paying subscribers.

The gain from Kanye's album is great because it introduced a lot of people to the service.

I hope a concert follows. Would be dope.

I"m a paid subscriber btw.

Remember when Tidal was a flop?

Remember how that was being pushed on the internet and all these message boards.

Funny how a year later Jay Z is saying they have 3 million subscribers and 1.35 paying premium.

I thought it was a flop?

I think Tidal is suing to be able to say they grew the company from nothing, meaning there were no subscribers and Tidal grew the current base organically.

It's a business move of some sorts that I don't fully know because I haven't read legal docs but sounds like some sort of strategy to me.
