S4MN was 2x platinum by '95, and MATW was also platinum in '95. You need to check your facts. When's the last time a Jay fan has gotten at anybody because of a beef? I know plenty of Pac fans that will catch that fade with you tomorrow though. Ain't nobody gonna buy a Jay album just because he died, he was never that kind of artist.

This is based on Soundscan not RIAA certification which Pac is well ahead of Jay Z. Of course Pac and Biggie's records are going to get broken eventually. But Jay doesn't have a Diamond album like them but it's clear that Jay Z is the most consistent seller in Hip Hop History. With that said, Pac and Biggie at their Peak is bigger than any Peak of Jay's career. Pac during the All Eyes on Me/Makaveli and Big during the Life After Death era were bigger than any single moment in Jay's career. Was Pac a slow seller out the gate? Yes, his debut only went Gold and his 2nd LP went Platinum. He really didn't start moving units until "Me against the World" his 3rd LP. Speaking of Jay and Pac.
