currently watching part 2, great interview, i like the part where they asked him who did he sign to the Roc that he regretted and he said it wasnt Amil and that the album was actually good and charlagmagne said naw it wasnt good and then they starting talking about the latin artist they signed. Jay skipped answering the question

He tapped dance the hell outta that question lol. I think the correct answer is ODB or Foxy Brown.

And when they asked him who he regretted passing up on, he said "we signed everybody" :dead: He did pass up on Stack Bundles though

This interview was a 43 year old man giving knowledge out like a 43 year old man.

The album was a 43 year old man trying to compete with 20 year olds :flabbynsick:

:childplease: last I checked, Jay has no competition. He's still the biggest rap star and has went multiple platinum with every album he has dropped. Dont let your hate for Hov make you sound stupid, cause that's exactly how you are sounding right now.

He isn't the biggest rap star ... he's never been the biggest. he is the biggest MOGUL right now. i'd say he eclipsed Diddy.

but drake, lil wayne, kanye and dare i say EMINEM are bigger Rap stars than jay-z .. meaning they can sell more albums, and are wanted by people more musically.

however this is the closest i think jay-z has ever been to being the biggest rap star. He's top 3 right now.

I don't hate Hov though :patrice:, I just want him to make music fitting for his age.

This nikka on trap beats now :childplease:

I never said Jay isn't the most successful, which obvious is what you're basing this on since you said nothing about the actual music

I just want a 43 year old man to make 40 year old music.
At least he stopped wearing that snapback to the side :scusthov:, nikka damn near OG's age, if I ever saw my pops wear a snapback :pacspit:

Drake and Wayne whore themselves.. None of them could headline a show over Jay. Em is just as big as Jay.

Jayz had nothing to do with cthagod getting fired in Philly. I remember when c said jay would never do an interview with him because of his Wendy Williams days. Good to see c over came that but envy been tight with jayz for while. Anyone remember jayz track on envys album it was called hova?

Ok he's ONE of the biggest rap stars right now. His music and features still command respect. Doesn't change my total argument that he has any real competition, Jay is in an another lane.

Jay is successful because of his music. What are you talking about breh. He is Top 5 in almost everyone's list, what is 40 year old music though? He's rappin about where he's at in life on most of his records. You might not like it, since its alot about power, fame and wealth, but it's facts.

You're right as far as being bigger as a brand ... Jay has done that to a T .. he doesn't dilute or overxpose his brand. So if he does any show its a bigger draw than someone who does shows all the time. However still doesn't detract from the fact that in 2013 more people want to consume a Drake album as opposed to a Jay-Z .. and I'll still say even a Lil Wayne album. Lil Wayne still is in the POST GRODT phase (Massacre phase) that 50 went thru. To Negros he's done but to caaacs he's stilll on . If you think about Jay-z Most of the things making headlines and having us talk about him isn't even music.

Not a big jay-z fan. But damn dude is smart and has a great way of breaking things down. I wish we had a way of showing this side of Jay to the black youth then the rap version.
