These are two artists people mention as GOATS, who is better?
For me I have KRS-One, one of the main things he has over Jay to me is substance. Both are in my top 5 I believe, but I think KRS has more classic albums, has more intellectually stimulating work, they both are good rappers technically but I think KRS has probably shown that even more than Jay throughout his career. His positivity and powerful music among other factors make him superior to me.

Other areas I probably give KRS are voice, presence, inflections, flavour, styles,, if it counts live performances, battling, originality. Would probably give punchlines and slickness/certain kinds of wit to Jay. And Jay has some elements like the playa songs that KRS doesn't choose to touch, which is understandable, nevertheless I do enjoy some of Jay's work there.

Lol, I'm just asking the question as to what you meant. Yes to me I do rank him among these people. Not higher than KRS though.
Jay is a better lyricist, KRS catalog has more classics, but Jay has more good albums overall. Really close.
But who do you think overall? Just out of interest, why do you think he's a better lyricist?
I think KRS got more good albums overall when you take into account all the body of work.

-picks better production than any rapper ever
-can make songs in any lane with the exception of socially conscious stuff (which is ironically one of KRS strengths)
-has a sense of humor that appeals to me (often
heavy)-has a better discography to me overall
I love both though
both are..but at least Jay has Beyonce
Not really, KRS still killing shows, doing lectures at universities, writing books, making albums, creating movements, that's grown man moves.
