-has a flow that i find more appealing
-picks better production than any rapper ever
-can make songs in any lane with the exception of socially conscious stuff (which is ironically one of KRS strengths)
-has a sense of humor that appeals to me (often :troll: heavy)
-has a better discography to me overall

I love both though

That's cool man, I respect your opinion.

As of recently I much prefer what KRS is doing musically, he's talking about immigration, philosophy, all kinds of diverse intellectual and creative topics while Jay talking about Miley Cirus twerking lol.

But who do you think overall? Just out of interest, why do you think he's a better lyricist?

I think KRS got more good albums overall when you take into account all the body of work.

KRS can be very simplistic with his lyrics. Jay is a much more complex MC, with more thought into the rhymes. Jay's double meanings, metaphors, punchlines are way more advanced. Don't get me wrong, KRS when he's on can be lyrically great, but his strong suit was more substance in the lyrics than the actual complexity of it.

I think Jay only has 1 bad album. I think every KRS album after 2001 has been mediocre.

Mm, I'm not sure about that. I understand Jay on something like Reasonable Doubt did things KRS doesn't often do, but I don't think Jay rhymed quite like that much after. I'm not sure much more complex as an MC though, as an MC comprises of a lot of aspects, but I think I get what you mean though. Also I think KRS has quite a lot of complex rhymes himself.

In regards to the albums I disagree with that, I thought Hip Hop Lives, Survival Skills, Meta-Historical, Never Forget, Kristyles, Spiritual Minded, among others were good albums.

Post a KRS verse fukking with Jay's on Shiny Suit Theory.

Just listening, I don't think the verse is that good, it's pretty forgettable to me, infact I've never heard anyone mention it ever until now. Decent rhymes, but it doesn't sound amazing or say anything THAT profound.

So...

Infact listening to this, it sounds so much superior in every way as an MC. Everything from delivery to presence.

Jay was complex after RD. Very complex in fact.

Give some examples of KRS-One having complex lyrics in terms of double meanings, metaphors, punchlines etc...

That's a definition of complex, complex doesn't have to be double meaning, punchlines, it can be the rhymes, like Pun didn't really do that but he was still a complex lyricist, KRS does have some metaphorical work though.

And in regards to Jay, yes he has been definitely, but RD may possibly be his most complex work In my opinion.

Give some examples then...And KRS rhymed nothing like Pun in terms of rhyme compounds, rhyme patterns, syllable usage etc...

and KRS-One is my favorite rapper of all time, I'm just telling you, I'm more familiar with his catalog than anyone I know. His strength was never his lyrical complexity. Again, yes, he did have great lyrics at times, but also was very simple and direct at times too.
