I feel like they're hard to compare. Jay is definitely more adept at making music that appeals to a very wide audience, while still managing to sound nice and do it over an ill beat; not to mention he's still putting out charting albums to this day.
KRS on the other hand is a genius, outspoken and very brave about what he has to say, and secured his legacy when there were lots of heavy hitters in the game (Rakim, BDK, G Rap).
KRS has an ear for those classic NY beats, while Jay is versatile enough to work through all types of production; KRS has the message, Jay has the swag.
KRS might be the better rapper, and Jay the better overall artist.
