KRS-One hands down

KRS ONE is a way better MC (skill wise). KRS-One is miles higher in lyrics and knowledge, he just doesn't have the money and power for airplay. Jay-Z may be the better entrepreneur and money man, but he'll never, ever outshine the lyrical and knowledge content and be able to surpass KRS-One who is one of the first true leaders of hip hop. Jay-Z sells because of his ability to reach the more "mainstream" folks and he has the $$$$ to do it. He's become fabulously rich but he still cannot surpass the knowledge and the wisdom and the skills lyrically and cannot rock the mic like KRS-One. That is why KRS-One is know as "The Teacher" or "The Professor" and spends so much of his time traveling the world giving seminars about hip hop and the culture.

Jay has used and has shown way more ranges of flows, inflections, and cadences in comparison to KRS and that sht isnt even close dawg

This is by far the most blatantly incorrect thing in this entire thread/ KRS has way more flows, deliveries, and styles than any rapper in history. Saying Jay has more is outlandish. That's like saying Shaq is a better jump shooter than Kobe. It's just wrong. It's not an opinion it's factually wrong

KRS has displayed every style of rhyming. Mutli-syllabic speed rhyming, slowed down, up tempo, chanting, aggressive, etc...

To me Jay's advantages over KRS-One are he's a more advanced lyricist metaphorically, with wordplay and punchlines

He makes more universal music. He can make music for the west coast, east, south, pop, underground etc...

He has more good albums. Jay only has 1 bad album, imo. KRS-One has about 5 awful albums


KRS-One's advantages imo is he has way better content

He has more diverse flows, deliveries, and styles of rhyming

He has more classic albums.
