Nah. This is where we have to start being objective and honest on here, lol.

These are our guys and they're both GOAT's, but Jay's definitely better than Nas at A LOT of sh*t. I don’t even like that people can't stop comparing them just because they were beefing in 2001-02, but the only thing I think Nas is better than Jay at, is storytelling.

I don’t believe i missed any keystrokes when I typed what I typed.

As an artist, rapper, musician, writer there is NOTHING Jay-Z does better than Nas

I already quoted two of em, can you tell which songs those bars from without googling?

You gonna say this shyt was inspired and classic? He ain't saying shyt and has spit this same verse a hundred times. Break down the dopest bars and why we supposed to be impressed.

"Something foreign I’m tourin on foreign land
Worldwide I'm known for the Arm & Ham-
-mer, per the streets, I'm a wanted man
(But the flow's like dope) So it's on again
Started with the block, hit it brick by brick
Then I charted with the Roc, nikka, hit by hit
I'm retarded with the Glock, nikka, clip by clip
The competition is none, they deceased to exist
Let it breathe a little bit
He's off his rocker, he's a little schitz
Throwed like a football, Hov used to cook raw
Now I got the game sewn like granny's good shawl
Sure, y'all nikkas want war
Y'all got it backwards, y'all should want raw
Y'all should want more"
And this verse is more impactful than any Nas verse since

Then again, this isn't really a talk for the obsessed.

You the homie, but you're not gonna be objective about no damn Nas. LOL!!

What was the impact? If you removed Jay verse it wouldn't impact the quality of the song or album at all
put it like this

If a Billionaire said he will give me a million $ to go in a room of a hundred 35 years old and up hiphop heads and play a verse that 2 people out the 100 would know from Nas since 2005.

I would leave that room with zero $

So you can't explain what's dope about the "classic" verses you listed. Appreciate the confirmation.

Both on a Pharrell beat. Both around the same point in their careers. Who ya got

I voted for 'Nasir rocking chandelier' it's not even close.

Jay addressing Faizon Love is corny and him saying 'thanks to Allah' when he is a known atheist wave hopping Alistair Crowley occult wannabe.

'Life starts where the Church ends' - Jay.

You do downplay Nas' work a considerable amount, though. You like both of them, but you're definitely more in the Hov camp if we're being honest.

I’ve been holding onto that all thread :heh:

People talking about ‘Neck and Wrist beat is better’. I mean it’s not Jay fault Nas can’t rap on just ANY beat. That’s not his strong point.

Pharrell probably gave him FICO and Nas said :jbhmm: Nah gimme that throwaway ‘generic 2000s motivation’ beat that don’t sound nothing like your production. I’ma hit ‘em with the terminator-hasta la vista flip :obama:

Pharrell made that beat for the Clipse and Pusha thought it sounded like Nas, so he sent it to him and he was like :gladbron: that he had the beat all to himself.

I did not like that Nas version the Clipse album and he my GOAT. One of his weakest verses and just didn’t fit the vibe of the record - felt very out of place.

Jay has never done a Clipse record - those joints with Pusha don’t count as “Clipse”.

I would’ve loved to hear Jay over M.T.B.T.T.F. Just felt like such a layup for him
