I have always wondered.
Dame had a relative that was arrested for a white collar crime.
That was really kinda harcore.
I always wonder if this family legacy association.
Could have ruined a number of business and personal connections.
That originally, helped rocafella.

I am not sure about the full details of this relative.
Yet, I still wonder if this in some way hurt the dash legacy.
To the point that it could have hurt rocafella's permeation, as well.

Everything dame did post jay flopped. :russ:

But but he's a business man:russ:

Nah b he just rode the cottails of a superstar in his prime. The only reason people put up with Dame's bs is because he had Jigga.

Jay and Dame had a symbiotic relationship. Dame and his cousin were managing some rappers, who really weren't going anywhere, when Dj Clark Kent asked Dame to put Jay on one of Dame's artist records, back when Jay was rapping like the FuSchinkens...:comeon:..anyone heard of them lately :mjpls:...it was Dame, and Clark Kent who convinced Jay to slow his rhymes down. Roc-a-Fella was Dames idea. Dame went to several labels who turned Jay down, until Dame got the deal at Payday records. The Def Jam deal was Dames. Can you all imagine Jay in a board meeting, negoiating contracts, royalties, a joint venture, with Lyor, with his soft, mumbling voice? Dame was a a$$hole, but he fought hard for his artists. Steve Rifkind told a story of how Dame and his cousin came into his office, and chewed him out for the perceived lack of support Rifkind's street team was providng for the Dash's artists. Jay Z is where he's at now, because he has good management, and people looking out for his interests. The guy Dame hired, and then fired from the Roc, Jay scopped up, and put him on his personal payroll.

this is nonsense and history has already proven this bs wrong. lol. was OP around when jay took full control of rocafella? that NEW rocafella bullchit was a disaster and killed off many careers.

dame WAS rocafella. he was the one handling the artists. jay only cared about jay. in fact, jay-z was a hinderance to rocafella artists. i called it back then, and it became even more evident when jay launched the new rocafella by himself.

people can say what they want about dame, but nobody on rocafella wouldve been half as successful without him. jay-z included.he would be red hot lover tone(no diss) status in the history books without dame.

What was the Carter faculty? This is my first time hearing of this.

nuff said.

it was jay's own label that he was trying to get off the ground back in the late '90s/early '00s. iirc, thats the label that da ranjahz were supposed to be on. i assume H.money bags/geda k was supposed to be there as well, cuz he wasnt really reppin roc.

I'd say Jays roll behind the scenes has been underrated.

IMO they needed Dames drive and relentlessness to get on. Dames story is a classic be careful how you treat people on the way up tale.

See Jay was smart enough to realize that Dames lil routine only works in low level business (like record labels). Remember when Dame bust into the Def Jam meeting for the black album?? Yeah, that's not gonna work when your dealing with the Live Nation's and Samsung's of the world.

I don't feel sorry for Dame and Biggs either. They were both paid for their investments and work with the label. Jay's suppose to keep letting them eat off his plate because their his boys?? How close was they anyways when as soon as they split ways he's taking shot at Jay with Cam.

nobody feels sorry for dame & biggs because theyre not with jay anymore. lol.

the sympathy stems from them getting blackballed.

like just about everything in life...there is no black & white answer to this.

Dame was integral to the creation and rise of Rocafella.
But he lacks humbleness and doesnt seem willing to play the back and listen to other people...
...that ruined his standing once they were on top.
His brashness was perfect during their come up...but he wasnt able to adapt to being on top and being more tactical with his moves.

Jay is much better at adapting...and that is the reason why he has been able to sustain this longevity.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
It's pretty clear to me that Jay-Z was pretty much the brains behind everything there...
Dame and Bugs both got big gigantic checks for their share of Rocafella. I believe it was 20 million each.

Biggs with $20 Mil in hand continues his involvement with a major marijuana distribution ring...

This is the dumbest of dumb moves...
If this man was smart if he was really business man he would have cut all times with that ring, or be so far removed/hands off from the work that any lawyer in the country could beat the case...

Dash got the Rocafella check and even got $40 Million more for Rocawear...
What does he do?
Dame Dash Music Group?
CEO fashion line?
Tiret luxury watch line?
Bets it all on Jim Jones last album being a classic?
(Insert additional flops here)
it was two different types of mentalities with them. dame wanted to own shyt, jay wanted the money

you notice everything dame did, he wanted to be on some boss shyt.. high end shyt.. get your delivery in 2 hours.. dame motor oil for high end cars.. he wanted to own another label.. he wanted the ceo fashion line.. he wanted the luxury watches... ownership.. high end

jay was like fukk this, pay me... give me a president's JOB when i was just an owner.. give me 150 million dollar record and tour deal when i was just an owner and free agent.. give me a piece of the sports agency and i'll be the face but not actually own it.. give me shyt to advertise instead of me putting out my own product.. but is constantly getting paid.. but how many companies does jay-z really own these days

dame couldn't be a spokesperson or really have a job.. i mean he could be president of sony or some shyt.. but i'm sure HE would think that's beneath him. so he went out and tried to break into high brow type shyt.. and they looking at him like :mjlol: fukk outta here nikka

where as jay-z, soon as he sold that 5 mil, everyone was on his nuts.. they put up with dame cause they wanted jay.. they pushed the roc cause they knew jay was there.. roc got that hour on flex cause jay was there go :whoo: for an hour with them... soon as the blue bloods saw they could cut dame out and just deal with jay.. they got him the fukk out of there.. or actually he got himself out of there by not giving up RD masters
