I don't even know why niiggas would even bother to defend Jay pre Reasonable Doubt. Jay eventually came into his own, but that shiit he was on back then was not hot. He's fortunate he had guys that believed in him because I definitely wouldn't.

There's a reason he started in 86 & didn't put out an album until a decade later.

I never took this 'freestyle' that serious... I did at the verses from Jay, but let's keep it reality. breh stepped his game up since then. Big L shined in that, pre-written or not he chose well.

I heard this years after Jay's success so it wasn't a real big surprise.

Funny how it turns into a Jay v.s. Nas debate tho. I see y'all.
