Funny, I had a period earlier this year where I went back and listened to this almost everyday.

Still an amazing project. Great beats. Top notch Flows and Lyricism. Great singles.

One of his best for sure.

This my second favorite Hov album after RD. To me it was just as good as Blueprint production wise, but was noticeably sharper lyrically.

The Tupac Resurrection soundtrack and G-Unit Beg for Mercy came out on the same day. Great day for hip hop.

I only had enough money to buy 2 so I bought Beg for Mercy and the Resurrection soundtrack and downloaded Camel's album with Kazaa

What More Can I Say was the song that made me put Jay as the GOAT. He answered a lot of naysayers and dikk eaters on that song. Top 4 Jay-Z album of all time

Yeah, this was iconic time in my life, my senior year in high school, just reckless and out there, hustling, coke, smoking blunts in my boys car like Pac and Suge in Vegas, scales and bags on me. All those albums were classic (in the moment), that 2pac/Biggie "Runnin" was a personal classic, "G'd Up" was another one, and from Jay's album, has to be "Allure".

I think all three albums haven't aged well, and TBA is not one of my favorites from Jay, it's around here where he lost a lot of his flow, and the street content, though songs like PSA and Allure are among his best work.

I think it's Vol. 2 perfected. 12-13 songs with like 12-13 producers, with different styles and Hov just murking out every single one of them. These type of albums are really hard to succeed with, people rarely manage to make it a cohesive focused album, even Jay fails half of the time (see BP2 and BP3).
