I only had enough money to buy 2 so I bought Beg for Mercy and the Resurrection soundtrack and downloaded Camel's album with Kazaa

hell nah I said that wrong. Its been one of my favorites for a decade. I meant from late 03 when i bought the CD my favorite song changed every month, then after like 6 months it was "allure" & "what more" and it stayed that way all through my 20's up to now.

Agreed 100% with the bolded. Track is lush, Pharrell murdered the vocals and Jay knew exactly what to do with it

I'd say his second best, I didn't know that when I got it for Christmas when I was 11. Thought it was his best back then. Lol

I think it's Vol. 2 perfected. 12-13 songs with like 12-13 producers, with different styles and Hov just murking out every single one of them. These type of albums are really hard to succeed with, people rarely manage to make it a cohesive focused album, even Jay fails half of the time (see BP2 and BP3).

This is a good way of describing the album

I've never been a Jay fan but this was one of his best albums and one of the few I truly enjoyed.. I don't think it's a classic, but that's because I think he has AT BEST two but I understand the love this album gets

And Justify My Thug was dope as fukk

I didn't understand why this album was considered so good because I hated his first two singles

Honestly alot of the 00s Neptune and Timbo beats I didn't like then and most definitely aged like shyt to me

One of my biggest knocks against Jay was his Trendhopping and dikk riding of different trends sonically which prevented him from developing a cohesive sound, prevented originality, and made his music age poorly to me
