yeah he spit the hottest flows ever heard on this album

if only the production matched his rap skills......

but the production for Girls Like, Who U Wit or Face Off plus the weak hooks on Sunshine and City Is Mine killed off the GOAT album potential

however, Where I'm From, Intro, Friend Or Foe, Streets Is Watching, You Must Love Me and Imaginary Player >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> anything S.Carter did after 2003 (yeah AG was dope alright)

I agree, this shyt is criminally underrated.

Probably my third favorite Jay album after RD and the Black Album.

Neck ties and boxing gloves.
I can't believe how many people like 'Sunshine."

Vol.1 suffered from Shiny Suit Syndrome just like Cam's Confessions of Fire did.

They both tried to ride that trend and failed.

Jay just executed it better with his harder tracks. There's definitely classic tracks on Vol.1

To me, it's the best of the Volume series.

Listening to this album right now.IMO there are only 2 fillers , the rest range from very good to great songs. It's his 3rd best album to me after RD and Blueprint. I have it slightly above the Black album which I think is a little overrated. The album is a very unique time capsule in his career , He never sounded anything like this before or after this album.

I think this is Jiggas most underrated album. Jigga was so cold on this followup.

Two of Jays top 10 songs are on this album. IMO.
