Actually, part of what it takes to be GOAT franchise is having GOAT level players on the squad more often than not.
The GOAT franchise has several players in the top 10, the Boston Celtics has one, maybe two at best and both are lowkey a stretch nowadays. There’s levels and no one plays at the level GOAT franchise does![]()
didnt d mitchell and halliburton miss games ? .. my point was they looked more dominant than they really were if the opponent is missing key pieces not saying they wouldnt have won anyway cause its impossible to predict thatI'm not here for the "injury luck" thing... they didn't have injury luck, really. KP missed damn near the entire playoffs. No Boston fan said a word about it because they won without his contributions. Injuries happen every single year![]()
Tatum is post-injury Paul George with a better team. He performs well enough to take teams heads off nightly but his playstyle is wack for his build. He should be downhill 50% of the time, not doing the left elbow step back 3.
Tatum is cool, he’s top 5 or so and he’s certainly 1st team All NBA but…
Luka, Joker, SGA & Giannis are just considerably better
I also like Bron & Steph better even at this advanced age
Aside from Luka, whose just an offensive prodigy, all the best players in the league have a bread & butter but Tatum doesn’t have that
Tatum destroyed Luka and them last season and LeBron couldn't get out of the first round with Luka this year... 5 games.
Eh, there was a small window where post-leg injury PG (specifically thinking year 2 of the OKC years) that Tatum reminds me of. Able to get downhill, loves to pull the 3 despite being larger than most of the people who guard them, and reliable on defense.Paul George has never, ever been the level of scorer Jayson Tatum is. Paul George and Jayson Tatum are nowhere near equals or the same caliber of basketball player.
You can be an allstar & all nba player but also be bottom tier amongst said players. If Lebron is top tier, Tatum is a 2nd/3rd tier kinda guy, while PG is bottom tier.

Tatum is built to slash. He averages 13.2 drives per game when he could be at 20(Though thats prime russ territory), or at least Jalen Green level at 17. He settles for the 3 too much. PG had the same issue.
Remember Boston wanted to prove to everyone that last years title wasn't a fluke or due to them getting lucky because of opposing team injuries. Well looks like the opposite is happening.Like I said, Tatum is somewhere between a rich man’s Allan Houston and a very poor man’s Tracy McGrady with far less athleticism, less handles, and a very streaky shot.
He doesn’t have much of a go to offensive bag outside of being a chunker, he has a slow first step, and he doesn’t finish well around the rim through contact either.
I personally don’t like his game and I don’t think he’s to the level that he’s advertised. Things lined up perfectly with injuries and then the Celtics got a favorable matchup in The Finals with the Mavericks last year. I’m not sold on Tatum being that guy.
