People forget that Jay did have intrigue and mystery about himself. His style of writing and recording. He had the street tales and Penthouse in Manhattan to back it up before the rap.money. I call it the definition of staying in your lane and perfecting your craft.

"It's an

Respected by who? Snoop nor DOC could write for that beat. So I can't value your opinion at all in this regard. That song is what broke the album.
What you mean snoop or doc couldn’t write for that beat? :dahell: Snoop wrote his own verse on that beat :mjlol: anybody coulda wrote on that beat

I got the same narrative, he was propped up

The fact he became successful is great, I love it

but when you calling him the goat rapper, that’s the problem, because thats not about success or money, you can’t buy your way to the top of that, put some respect on that or you getting called out for the fukkery :birdman:

No that's YOUR problem. You have a problem with ppl who see Jay in that light because you don't and you been pissy about it for days now. Nobody's changing their minds. Those who have Jay at #1 or high on their list will likely continue to and those who don't will continue to complain about those who do.

Hear it from the Dogs mouth.

And people complain about the state of hip hop. Maybe it's because people are just consumers and not students.

I’m not watching that I don’t care about the still DRE song, it’s not among the best of Dre’s catalogue, you must be young if you think it is

I got a problem with people placing a rapper high on a list of rappers for reasons other than his music yeah

Of course you’re not because your mind is already made up like I said in that thread you created asking his fans why they think he’s the GOAT. pawdalaw came with concrete proof to negate the lie you stated as fact, and now all of a sudden it doesn’t matter :mjtf:

That’s not the case, but as I said before, your mind is made up, so anything other than what you think the reason is, you refuse to listen to.

You dont care about it, but you felt the need to comment initially. You say t's not amongst the best. But the artists who recorded it say its one of the most important of his career.

Too stubborn to admit you're wrong, too closed minded to consider the facts.

So now you mention my age, I was a teen when Straight Out Of Compton dropped.

In psychology the term is called "contempt prior to investigation." In Compton its called being a "mark ass buster."

That's your assumption. The reality is at the least, Jay is VERY GOOD at rapping. He made impactful music at a time where it was very competitive and still excelled. He left an impression on a big enough group of ppl that he is the GOAT to them. He doesn't have to be the GOAT to you, music is subjective, but the hate train because of a list is corny.

It was the most important in “his” career, because the album was on his own label and he reaped all the benefits, by then he was a superstar and everybody was anticipating that album

It wasn’t most important for the culture, The original Chronic was

That’s not my assumption I literally asked his fans why he is the goat and those were the reasons they gave me, that’s what I replied to

I don’t think music was very competitive at that time, most music from that era has aged terribly, the beats were horrible and the content was superficial (crystal, model chicks) Jay z claim to fame are club hits

To put him above greats that really impacted the culture is a disservice to humanity

Still DRE is known for its beat, off top I can’t even recite one line from the song, it’s all filler of what a stereotypical west coast rapper should sound like “swapmeets and bad traffic I dip through, then I give you… the D R E” :mjlol: that shyt was TRASH bro, the beat was raw though

now nothing but a G thang, that was hard as fukk, we go line by line on that blows Jay z whole catalogue away

Nas had a start and support that Jay-Z couldn't even remotely hope for
early in his career.
To be the fukking UNDERDOG and say "fukk A LABEL!!" and do the shyt Jay did.
is incredible man.
This is the exact energy I'm coming with, fukk A LABEL, I will build this shyt myself :wow:
