it wasnt actually that long ago, only a few years. probably not out of the woods yet either. he only has a distribution deal so he has to be wise with his money and has to keep the new music coming and doing shows (when shyt opens back up). The Warm Up is a good damn start though.

breh pushing 60. He’s older than Big Daddy Kane, KRS One, Rakhim, LL.

he should be doing tours on the strength of his old music, not trying to make new shyt exclusively.

he was/is. but he doesnt have that much material to headline a venue of say more than 300 people probably and if he is under someone he really has to hustle, so thats why he needs new stuff. he gets on shows with other older artists like Rakim. he needs that new stuff to generate some interest and sell some physicals and merch. he is 55, but he hasnt lost a step lyrically or song making, plus he has to keep trying to get his production out there.

Above the fray.

His material didn't pop in his prime to the point where he can do legacy tours or spot dates.
He was known and had a big buzz in Brooklyn, but outside of Hawaiian Sophie.....no notable songs.

but that’s the problem. It might be too late in today’s music world. He not picking up any new fans.

jay z should’ve looked out for him back in the late 90’s. He gave him a 1/2 a 16 on one song and that’s it.

He will probably have to go the Cormega route or a similar path. He was always a dope MC and ahead of his time. Maybe he can learn to produce music for other artists as well :manny:

I respect when people work outside music.

This is a reality story.

Money counts at the end of the day. All this "do it for the love" free rap was always the wrong mindset to have.

It's tricky cause he sounds like he's fully back on his feet near the end.

Personally I don't consider anyone wealthy wealthy unless they have at least $2 million in their bank.

Otherwise people have to keep working. Making music, doing shows, videos - is all working.

I respect what he said tho, and these are real life brutal facts.

Jay Z offered him a deal on Rocafella but he wanted more money (ended up with no money)
