I've watched this video maybe over 100 times throughout the years. I say the 2nd greatest because nobody touching Michael Jackson from age 8-14. But Jazmine Sullivan here at age 11 sounded like a grown fukking woman. The vocal prowess at such an age. Tonality. Pitch. Control. Breathing. Riff. Runs.

She was a monster man. It reminds me of Lauryn Hill except Lauryn had a difficult time learning to control and growing into her voice. She actually got boo'd at the Apollo. But back to Jazmine. It's so interesting in this small video clip watching how she let loose and let the soul spill out at the end of the song for the climax. I bet the drama teacher was telling her to just sing it straight and don't do all that "hoopin and hollerin" :mjpls:But when that feeling hit and you just can't help yourself, you gotta let it out. That level of complex runs toward the end is godly levels of vocal ability. I was floored the 1st time I heard her do this. Listen when she hits that last run and some woman in the crowd just screams as if she caught the Holy Ghost. I wonder what that audience was thinking when they heard this child completely undo any memory of Diana Ross or Stephanie Mills on this version of Home. I wish I could've been in that building to witness such a moment.

You must be listening to an entirely different video or the audio quality gives it a different timbre to your ears, but nah, she doesn't sound like a child at all....

Don't get me wrong. I meant in comparison to Jazmine she sounded like a child. Compared to anyone else, you'd have a point.
