Yeah I was thinking of Roy and Herbie especially. I guess Ahmad Jamal and Sonny Rollins are still around.

EDIT: I see you've listed Shorter already

oh course Ahmad Jamal how could I forget. Sonny was already mentionned above.
also McCoy Tyner who still plays I think
Gary Bartz (another sax player)
on a more obscure but no less legendary tip Marvin Peterson and Lloyd McNeill are still around as well

RIP Mr.Coleman :mjcry: :to:

I love how this thread has only 38 posts :snoop: :mjlol: I know black folks mostly care about hiphop/trap/rap music and ignore jazz, rock, blues, (musical genres actually created by BLACK FOLKS) but we have to honor the black excellences of other musical genres. Cant forget the legends. Jimi Hendrix will always be GOAT.

But a pawg or Azealia Banks thread will have like 1000 replies in it in 3 hours. Gotcha :mjpls:

Guru put me on to this man on the track Jazz Thing. I remember checking for him for the first time, listening for hours straight, rain in the background. Everything was soul after that. Rest in peace.
