The unknown
RIP. Another legend leaves too soon.

Lupe Fiasco posted this poem on his IG as a tribute

lupefiascoJazz As Geometry And Others

If Jazz had a shape it would be bebop circles and squares. Fluctuating and pulsating and pulling out chairs for women at the spot.
If Jazz had a temperature it would be hot. It would not be cool cuz it would riot at the slightest attempt to make it quiet in the spot by flipping over tables and throwing around stools.

If Jazz had a color it would be a spectrum of blacks. Questions of sound answered in Sax. Assisted by hammering taps by drummer hands.

If Jazz was a place it would exist outside all of time and space. And it's masters would convene on the edges of the universe to research the new rebirths of truly moving and all consuming works to put into a thousand bands.
If Jazz is a queen. Then Ornette is a King. Long live the king. Forever in good shape just like he told us it would be.
RIP Ornette Coleman.
