I think it's crazy how all these dudes feel they can take somebody out in their discipline, when that discipline is the only thing they do, and they're the best at it. MMA fighters striking just isn't at that level because theyre well rounded. They need to just be happy knowing they could win most every street fight and leave that boxing in the gym

JDS is a MMA fighter forget boxing. Let's be real though. In a mma fight he would kill either Klitschko brother. In a boxing match he would prob lose but would get out jabbed for the whole fight, leaving with maybe a scratch or two.

So a fighter like Overeem can be a very good K-1 boxer, but JDS would be a bum in kickboxing?

Overeem trained in kickboxing before anything else, it's his bread and butter.....poor comparison. Besides, MMA standup(boxing, kickboxing, karate, etc.) is different than what you would use in those respective sports. You go in kickboxing with the typical wide mma stance and you'd be a sitting duck for kicks....especially to the leg. Vice versa if you go in mma with a kickboxing stance you're easy food for takedowns.

It's not a poor comparison.

JDS has a very good chin with good hands and decent kicks (although we don't see them often), he would do pretty well in kickboxing. I'm not saying he'll tear through everybody, but he will at least be semi-successful. Also, he'd obviously change his stance if he were to kickbox, it's not difficult.
