I think Jeezy should have stopped rapping years ago... Everytime he puts out a project he just tarnishes his legacy. :francis:

Unfortunately... Jeezy's music is terrible now, and he just needs to stop so his classic music is not overshadowed.....I been knew he was declining when "The Recession" came out.

It's kinda sad to see this cause the new generation has no idea what Jeezy was at a point of time.......

It's weird how Gucci is now considered a "legend" , but he has never put out a project that influenced the streets like "Trap or Die" or "Thug Motivation 101" did. I'm from Atlanta and witnessed it with my own eyes.... His music literally took over & transformed nikkas lives like a cult.

Somebody check the crime & incarceration statistics for Atlanta,GA a year prior to "Trap or Die" , then compare to a year after it dropped. I bet you will see a random spike. Nothing Gucci has ever made had that kind of power over people like Jeezy's music did.

Being responsible for crime rate and incarceration spikes shouldn't be a claim to fame.....cuz nikkas end up in a cell.

On another note, I agree Jeezy did have the streets on lock in 05-08.....but I think if Gucci would have been the first out it would have been the same but just for him. When so icey hit Jeezy had already dropped the joint them boys wit puff.....I think he was already the next up after TI. Gucci just happened to come behind it all.

I kinda get what OP is saying, his new stuff ain't on the level of his old stuff. But he still hard nonetheless.

But it can be frustrating when you see these internet cacs from the Reddit/Noisey generation tryna shyt on Jeezy just to prop up Gucci, as if Jeezy didn't outsell him 10:1. And im a fan of both, but that's facts. Jeezy was running the streets for a decade.

His biggest sore spot is not really signing any artists who became big. Everyone either got dropped or had a falling out with him. That was Jeezy's weak spot. He can still turn it around, and boss up. But he just not putting weight behin it for whatever reason.

His new shyt out?

Trap or Die 3 came out last October. His new album "Pressure", i just looked it up coming out on December 15....I had no clue he had another album comin.

Also what's with all the Christmas dates? He letting the Snowman gimmick get to his head...this is the worst time to drop albums. shyt don't get buzz this time of the year.

Biggest reason why Jeezy is not as relevant as Gucci these days. Gucci could've easily lost his buzz when he was locked up, but a lot of the artists he put on shouted him out so much that their fan bases full of a lot of young hipsters were ready for Gucci when he came out. Jeezy for whatever reason never connected with the youth like that after his music stopped hitting. I think it's cause a lot of nikkas in the industry don't respect him

if he could've kept Gangsta Gibbs he possibly could've started a dope collective/group/legacy,imagine hearing Jeezy over some Madlib beats,i may be a weirdo but that would've been dope to moi, then again Jeezy could've nixed it&we would never have gotten Pinata&Bandana,so it prolly worked out,but what if..

is Slick Pulla still in the pen..?
