Wiz fukked up by abandoning is OG fanbase. Looking for hits over and over again instead of feeding the people who put him on. :pacspit:

Look at Cole. He makes sure he feeds his fanbase first. And he's good for 250k first week everytime out. :myman:
They don't learn slow and steady wins the race and quality music lasts longer.

Kanye can't even outsell J. Cole. Upper Echelon rappers are Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Drake, and Cacinem
Lets not pretend that Yeezus wasn't an experimental album, with NO RADIO SONGS :whoa: It wasnt even experimental like 808s was, because 808s launched two top 2 singles in Love Lockdown and Heartless

Kanye can sell with the best of him if he made songs like "Holy Grail" and "Hold On We're Going Home, SFTB" And Eminem's recycled "love the way you lie" type tracks.

MBDTF sold 500k first week, with Power and Runaway as the lead singles.

Yeezuz didnt even have a single. But it was reviewed better than any album that Jay, Wayne Drake and Em put out since maybe 2007

Yeah man. And Wiz was alright too. He dookie now. But back then he had that nice mix of swag, and decent lyricism, he could paint a picture fairly well too. Nowadays?

That's more like it. I saw the projections that had him sell under 100k and was like that dont seem right given his base. Its still low from his past debut week numbers but lets be real everyone goes down in units over the years.

he's still scared of gucci
folks moving imaginary goal posts.. :mjlol:

take a pick:

-"records dont sell anymore.."(sales over 100k, touring the US, and clearly promoting.. actually, good numbers for that..)

-"records dont sell anymore.. b..b..but.. 47k is good with no promo"(reunites at SummerJam, multiple shows, interviews, clearly promoting, etc.. clearly, terrible numbers)..

-*insert rapper who flops*..(:heh: "wheres his imaginary fanbase, now..? *insert rapper who sold well in '04* has been selling more than him since his last 2 albums.. :usure:")

-*post up in sales threads of a rapper they envy.. "who cares about sales.. sh!t was bangin to me.. :yeshrug:"

:russ:you cant even make this kinda sh!t up..

113k is solid for an album that pretty much crept under the radar without a real single. Although I'm surprised Jeezy didn't push closer to 200k off his loyal fan base alone.

Amazing that Ross still has the highest 1st week of the year at 179k.

This year has felt really underwhelming far as releases go.
