A rifle is for long distance engagements.
You don't need a rifle for home defense, you fukkin toddlers.

Rifle are much easier to use for the average untrained person than a hand gun. Far more accurate, easeir followup shots, higher capacity so you don't have to worry about reload.
Any weapons training person will recommend a rifle for home defense first and foremost.
Plus that is clearly a 10 inch short barrel, not really good for long distance engagements, unless you are deadshot from the suicide squad
really the only purpose of handguns to be have something accessible to you on your physical person that isn't big and unwieldy when you are outside of the home. Nobody wants to carry a big ass rifle to go grocery shopping. But at home thats not a concern you just leave somewhere within arms reach,
