u always caping for something mmg related:mjlol: I knew someone was gonna use the "bbbut its a mixtape" excuse, so lets do the math..

streams = sales, dc4 was not available for free download anywhere therefore its an album, every album is available on streaming sites for free in 2016
jeezy's shyt had the same rollout with way less hype and buzz and still did more
meek mill told his fans to BUY it.. shyt was an album and it flopped, and thats ok it happens to the best of us:ld:

On datpiff and mymixtapes :rudy:

Did you just say DC4 and TD3 had he same rollout ? Jeezy has been on every mainstream platform available for the last 2 weeks from the real to Wendy Williams to every show on ESPN to the breakfast club promoting this album . Meek had done no actual promotion for DC4 . Trap or die 3 had a whole campaign . And no DC4 wasn't an album it was streaming on mixtape sites and the description on Apple said mixtape

A project is a project nowadays. People look at albums/mixtapes with original content just as releases. Trying to argue "his shyt was a mixtape tho" in 2016 is mildly retarded. DC4 has been hyped for over a year now, and even casual fans could tell you what Meek's next shyt to drop was called. The whole Game beef trumps any promo Jeezy did in media rounds tbh.

With that said, I thought Jeezy's shyt was trash and I just can't understand how he did those numbers. I hope Meek's fans show out like that cuz his shyt way better.

First Week Numbers: Jeezy’s “Trap or Die 3” Projected to Outsell Meek Mill’s “DC4” - DJBooth Article
By DJ Z | about 17 minutes ago

Meek Mill, Jeezy, and 2 Chainz all delivered new retail projects to end the month on a high note.

Although album sales might mean little in 2016—streaming cume is a far more important metric—they can still be used in a comparative analysis when multiple projects are released on the same date. So, how did each artist perform?

According to HDD, Jeezy's Trap or Die 3 is projected to sell 67-72k copies (sales plus streaming), while Meek Mill's DC4 is on pace to do 45-50k. Sadly, no projections were published for any projects under 18k SPS, which means we'll have to wait until Thursday (November 3) for a final total on 2 Chainz surprise Hibachi For Lunch EP.

It would be hyperbolic to write that Jeezy outselling Meek Mill is shocking, but this circumstance is certainly unexpected. Sure, Jeezy has a terrific first-week sales track record, including the mixed reviewed Church In These Streets which moved 107k SPS first week units last November, but Meek's DC4 album was aboard the hip-hop hype train for at least the past four months.

While both Jeezy and Meek Mill's first week numbers are down from their respective previous commercial releases—in Meek's case, Dreams Worth More Than Money's sold nearly 5x as many SPS equivalents—don't be so fast to use the, "but it was just a mixtape" excuse. Jeezy made clear that Trap or Die 3 was not a mixtape and, no matter what he says, Meek's DC4, which is not available for free download and is made up of 100% original production, cannot possibly be labeled anything other than an album. The only reason people will mistakenly refer to the project as a tape is because it's the latest edition in a series that started as a mixtape and upon release, it was available for stream on sites like MyMixtapez, Datpiff, and Audiomack, which are commonly associated with mixtapes and not albums. (It should be noted, however, that DC4 has racked up nearly 6.6 million streams across those three platforms, while Jeezy's TOD3 isn't available on any of them.)

More important than the numbers, though, is the music. And in the case of Meek Mill, his performance speaks for itself.

The funny thing about mixtapes and albums is that mixtapes used to cost money until people started putting them out for free when the internet became a viable distribution network. The only difference is the album budget?

Nowadays there should be no difference if it's filled with original material and you put it on Spotify and on. Either it sells 0 copies if you put it on Datpiff, or it sells some records if you put it on streaming sites. I don't even know why anyone would put it strictly on Datpiff when they can upload it to the streaming services, Datpiff and any other service.
