this could mayyyybe be trouble for WWE, especially if they dont have their TV deal in place..and Punk goes there..

Punk would probably be able to lure a bunch of wwe guys over to the new wrasslin, as well as other guys he has worked with in the past. If nothing else, it'll slowly start a bidding war over wrestlers and the E will lose money and/or talent over it.

also..as mentioned, jarrett needs to be RARELY if EVER on screen at all.

and if WWE doesn't re-up or goes to some wack station, or even Fox Sports 1, then they are burying themselves.

Unless Jarrett has a billionaire backer with the ability to put incentives like insurance into guaranteed contracts, I don't think WWE has to worry about this new promotion wooing their talent

I agree with that premise..all depends on the finances. I think with the right tools, and a guy like punk in place, they could have potential. more than TNA anyway (which isnt much)

Honestly Punk wouldn't be much of a gain for them, the best thing they do is present their product as a sophicated and modern version of 80s NWA/AWA/Mid South Wrestling that feels and looks completely different than the E

I think Punk could fit into that mold though. He's the type of guy that could help distinguish the differences in brand identity. And even if he wouldnt be a huge long term draw..I think he would help significantly in terms of foundation building, initial excitement and recruiting/picking talent, if given the opportunity (sans a Colt Cabana heavyweight championship).

I know man, I wish their was an ambitious, intelligent, and ruthless young businessman with big enough pockets to give no fukks to compete against the E. But that's not happening ever :snoop:

The production values also need to be different from the WWE. It doesn't have to look cheap like ROH. TNA screwed up when they tried to copy how the WWE presents their company. Jarrett's company needs to have a gritty feel so the casuals will know that they are watching a different company than WWE (and TNA if its still around).

That too, I always wondered why TNA or ROH didn't have a ringwalkways setup similar to Boxing and UFC PPV with maybe two jumbo screens on the walks way similar to how WCW setup their PPVs pre-Nitro.

If he wants this thing to be a success then he should hope it is on CMT and fully embrace the hillbilly fan contingent. As a startup this promotion would need to find a niche that it can work and grow in because doing a subpar WWE impression won't cut it.
Plus those country music/NASCAR fans are legion and loyal as fukk, Jarrett would be lucky to have them care even a fraction as much about his new wrestling company as they do those other two pasttimes.

Exactly. Most people don't usually mention this but WCW had hardcore fans who watched when it was just southern company and stopped watching wrestling the day Vince bought it.

I can't exactly confirm it but there has to be a correlation to NASCAR's rising popularity post-2001, which Jarrett can def tap into.
