"we're protecting kids" has always just been a fig leaf, just like "we're tough on crime" for what they really want to do. They don't teach kids about sex education for example because they know if a child understands what consent is and understands that sex is a thing that adults do with one another, they'll realize that adults in their life have been molesting them.
Same party that claims to rep christianity are the same people that tell kids who've been molested by someone from the church to "forgive" the person who did that shyt to them instead of reporting it to the police. All they want to do is make people think that it's someone else doing the shyt that they do so that anything that is done to those people is always justified. There is no "going too far" when you believe the opposition is demonic.
Same people who claim that black men are rapists who are obsessed with white women are the ones raping not only their women, but OTHER people's women too. There could be straight up footage of him trying to molest a minor and they'll just say "that's fake footage from fake news" conservatism is always about preserving white people's feelings over anything else. If the truth makes them feel bad, they simply just ignore it and pretend it doesn't exist and then get mad at you for trying to make them think. They prefer a comforting lie that requires no action on their part to an uncomfortable truth that requires them to contribute to resolving the problems that the truth reveals.
