fukked thing is that even though Kobe was definitely gunning, he was doing a decent amount of setting others up for shots too and it was just brick after brick. I know it'll be argued that nobody had rhythm due to Kobe doing all that shooting but this squad is fukked either way.

I am a lakers fan and let me just say this, I dont care if Kobe shoots 60% let alone his current 37% fg 28% 3pt....

they couldn't cover a high school team for 2+ years now. When you are giving up 30+ PER QUARTER?

Its not rhythm, its not Kobe ball hogging it, its not Lin being as useful as a we paper bag, its the simple fact they cant stop anyone. Even when Kobe was shooting lights out 42 in 3qtrs they were still down by 20

I am telling you all, they are tanking it and making it seem like "hey hey we will get it together" "we are adjusting" adjusting to what? they gave up 74pts in the FIRST HALF lastnight

Food for thought...
Lakers gave up 136 pts to GS who rested the last 5mins of the game
Houston vs OKC final score was a combined 134pts

:deadmanny::deadmanny::deadmanny::deadmanny::deadmanny::deadmanny::deadmanny::deadmanny::deadmanny::deadmanny::deadmanny:@ Lakers tanking

It hurts man, it really does

All my knicks friends are ripping on me but, whats worse
Lakers having no coach, losing their 2nd (only other good player) in Gasol, Losing Nash and Blake, Adding Lin/Booker and tanking at 1-9
or
Knicks adding the Zen master (knicks fans acted like he was playing PG) and REALLY trying at 3-8? :sas1:

Fact is Lakers lose their pick if its 6+... You don't think upper management knows this? So let me get this straight
Lets try really hard win 35 games, miss the playoffs by 15 games, and give our 7th pick away
Or
Pay Kobe a dumptruck of money to play streetball with no namers, score 100 give up 120, and we get a top 5 pick and keep him?

Decisions Decisions...

If this was ALL about winning, Kobe would be making 10m like duncan, Gasol will be there, and so would Love or some other high profile free agent, instead they turned Gasol/Blake into Boozer/Lin :heh:

Are they imploding though? Someone hinted at something here and I thought about ti and it makes perfect sense. Just listen for a sec...

If the Lakers get top 5 pick they keep it.
They obviously aren't doing ANY damage this year, it benefits them long term to go 10-72 and missing the playoffs rather then 35-37 and missing the playoffs
Give Kobe insane contract, he deserves it for time he put in, but on the flip side it handcuffs GM cant sign any big players to make them a little better
Let Gasol walk, looks like a contract decision, but makes them a lot worse
Pick up Boozer... looksl ike they are "Trying" to add around Kobe, but c'mon?
Let Blake walk and add Linn... (see above posts on why this is funny)

So what do you have?

A clown show that even given 110% they still aint beating 90% of the teams in the league even when they try, when they get frustrated after a bit they wont be able to beat 95% of the teams in the league.

Result?
15 win season
Top 5 pick
No more Nash/Kobe Contracts

They just Tanked for a pick without looking like they are tanking...

If that's what you need to make yourself feel better then go on ahead and keep telling yourselves that. Bulls were winning with Boozer last year. Knicks and Rockets were both winning with Lin. Heck Dwight even took Lin to playoffs. And you have one of the supposed best players ever who can't even make the playoffs unless another superstar player is on the team.

How you a PG and only shoot twice. That ain't on Kobe that's on him. Besides Ed Davis the rest of the team was trash.

and smh at any heterosexual male co-signing that bullshyt Nelly was saying.

Soooo your going to compare last years bulls squad to this years Lakers team?
Your going to compare the Knicks 2012 squad to this years Lakers team?
Your going to compare the 2013 Rockets squad to this years Lakers team?

You must watch a lot of NBA basketball? :sas1:

Kobe or no Kobe, put Wilt in there, or Shaq or Jordan... Look at who is playing around Kobe. I am a Lakers fan but not a Kobe stan either hes a large part as to why we suck ass right now. If he took a Duncan deal he would be on a much better team right now, but anyone that compares this Lakers squad to any other team is delusional right now.

They offered Gasol $10 million a year, then $12 million a year, and the final offer was $13 million a year for 2-3 years.

Gasol rejected all of them and he's getting paid less in Chicago.

If it was about the money, the Lakers had enough cap room to go out and keep Gasol and perhaps sign some mid tier guys who are upgrades over what they have now.

The problem is their front office wants to sit on money, sign guys to 1 year deals and hope to grab a big name free agent with the allure of them being the Lakers.

The new CBA doesn't work that way. You need to draft and develop your stars. Keeping your own players is much easier in the post 2011 NBA.

LAL management is stuck and the times have passed it by. Plus, their scouting department is horrible.

@FAH1223 I agree but you need to see why Gasol walked for less money, its to go somewhere that you know you can win. Gasol is a very smart person, he knew what was going on. He knew once Kobe was ok with taking 23m+ a year, and still not even a coach in place? He knew what was going down. I hated how Gasol took the heat for every damn loss (including directly from Kobe) Kobe could go 2-17 we lose and its because Gasol wasn't "aggressive" enough. I am happy Gasol went to Chicago and I am hoping he gets a ring there. Once That Kobe offer came out, everyone in the know could see whats going on, its not about winning games in 2014-2015, that went out the window

I didn't watch, what did nelly say?

I am not a Nelly fan, but listen to what he is saying... dude is spot on. Even when Stephen A throws out his typical BS "KOBE TOLD ME...." hes a lifer. Nelly follows it with, then why take that money why not the cut for a better Lakers squad
