His major point is that Chris Brown is only 24 years old........he is actually 25 btw. Guess what age Pac died? And he accomplished 20X what Chris Brown did and pac only did it in 5 years, AND he was locked up for a year. Chris brown is a pop singer, i dont even see how the comparison is relevant. Pac was a revolutionary. Only thing Breezy revolutionized is autotune singing and blonde hair dye (not really actually)

i wouldnt go that far, and i see that jermaine dupri himself backtracked midway thru.

but i like when JD says "if i had chris brown" cuz i always say that if chris brown had a great producer or team behind him, he would be a real legend by now. jermaine dupri would be perfect. look at how he made usher, and usher doesnt have chit on chris.

chris brown was kind of a waste of talent after like the 1st or 2nd album. everytime i turn around, hes doing half-ass rap-n-b records or hes pandering to pop audiences. and its frustrating cuz he aint have any drug problems or none of that type chit to leave us saying "what-if". hes just bullchittin.

i dont think alot of yall seem to understand how talented chris brown is.

JD backtracked cuz he knows 2pac was more than music. but he did a great job at clarifying his statement. and i noticed, nobody is arguing with his clarifications in here.

"Over 80 million records sold, I didnt have to do it with ten or eleven year olds."

who said that?

His major point is that Chris Brown is only 24 years old........he is actually 25 btw. Guess what age Pac died? drop the autotune and the corny chit on & off wax, and put chris in the studio with somebody like a JD everyday and he couldve definitely had a bigger MUSIC career than pac. especially in this era where theres barely any competition. dude is on top now putting out bullchit records. imagine if he actually lived up to his potential.

also, like Vlad pointed out, comparisons like this go nowhere because youre fighting ghosts. pac is dead & immortalized. people forget that pac was a '90s rapper back when the culture was still alive and the game wasnt so corporate. he most likely wouldve got bumped out of the top-tier by the end of the '90s, just like the rest of his contemporaries. as opposed to chris brown, who not only is in a different genre, but a much weaker era.

keep in mind, JD backtracked and made it about just music. cuz pac was more than music.

what problems did chris have?

that rihanna thing that got him semi-blackballed for a couple years - even tho he was still given airplay & a chitload of coverage the whole time? alot of legends took longer breaks in-between albums than that, and didnt have the media keeping their names in the news like chris either.

thats nothing compared to a drug problem, or some of these other things that literally ended careers. it didnt stop chris from recording music. and hes been back at the forefront for years, and still nothing to show for it musically on a legendary scale.

Usher is better than Chris Brown in every way musically.

yea musically BECAUSE OF JERMAINE DUPRI.

thats the whole point of what i was getting at cannon.

talent-wise, usher doesnt hold a candle to chris brown. i called this way back, when i heard his 1st album. you might even remember it. i said, chris was a super-producer or super-team away. he never had either. i dont think he ever had a main producer or team behind him period.

He did a lot of rambling and people can have counterarguments but what he was saying made sense.

He isn't seeing Chris on stage though. Usher is a better so singer that's about it. I agree with Wacky D about the production team. You see how Usher fell off when he stopped working with Dupri.

A singer needs good songs period. There are only a select few that can make some bullshyt sound dope.:yeshrug:

pac was indeed a revolutionary in a modern way.

i cosign.

JD wants that C Brown stimulus package.

more like C Brown NEEDS that JD stimulus package.....assuming that JD still has it........PAUSE.

usher isnt anywhere near chris brown vocally. usher is an average vocalist at best, if you even consider him a vocalist.

the stage comparison is closer but chris brown waxes him there too, as you said.
