the music industry as we once knew it pretty much consolidated itself out of existence

middle men like dame and irv (rip) etc running around lookin looking silly and out of place because the wholesale destruction of commercial musics infrastructure left figures like them obsolete

the topic at hand is definitely a matter of concern, but it aint like black people got the agency to platform these acts... at best we can petition some white entity to fill these voids and hope they consider the plea

i know we've been socialized to not address real sources of control and power but the culprit here aint "nikkas"

Keeping it funky, Jaden Smith is one of my favorite rappers (pause if necessary), he makes that kind of music…it’s definitely more that than the toxic poisonous shhit yall/we love. Everybody thinks he’s soft and/or sweet tho, 😆…rightfully so, he be on bs

Is this not that?

JD is right. Our parents had The Jackson 5 & The Sylvers when they were young, we had New Edition, Hi Five, Troop, etc.
Today's kids current musical choices are a steady stream of sex, drugs, murder, and ratchetness.
The kids today could definitely use some more age-appropriate music.
Teens used to listen to real R and B music and various types of hip hop. At some point labels got lazy/greedy and just threw the lowest form of both together and you have what we have now. Its either kiddie shyt or straight fukkin and poppin pills with no in between. Sad.

Oh okay, that’s facts. It wouldn’t sell, nobody wants to even attempt to tap into that. This shhit is Sodom and Gomorrah…if it ain’t overly-sexualized or overly-violent or just overly-ignorant it probably ain’t gonna pop
Except what you're saying is wrong. Sales, merch, and tickets for black artists are at an all-time low because black kids are not buying what is being sold to them en masse.

There are still kid-friendly Black boy/girl groups out there, but they need a push if their going to compete with the low-vibrational stuff.
For example, Wanmor is a really dope group of talented young brehs:

...and if the music is good, today's kids will rock with it:

Kpop is literally a case of forgotten recipes. They are literally just doing what we did with music for years, but we've gotten so far away from it they can now sell it back to us at a premium. Remember house music? :pachaha:

We are about a year away from a black group put together and trained by a kpop agency taking over urban music

Is that a music/messaging/bad quality thing tho? And, if this shhit ain’t what’s in then what is??? Lol

R&B falling out of the mainstream is a major reason for this. Even if the singers were grown the music was still listenable for a younger audience because it wasn't raunchy or profane.

Unless R&B makes a comeback there's isn't going to be a solution to this problem.
