(But we know the Coli blindly hates all things/people/places that are white :snoop: )

ummm....I can't see there being a whole bunch of "fukk you" messages if Al Pacino died tomorrow, fam.

Some of y'all with your kneejerk reactions whenever somebody that happens to be white gets insulted. :heh:

Jerry Heller Talks 'Compton' Lawsuit, 'Very Hurtful' Movie

rs-215296-h_14718888.jpg

Straight Outta Compton, he now says, took these accusations to another level. Last week, Heller filed a lawsuit against Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E's widow Tomica Woods-Wright, who all served as producers on the movie, director F. Gary Gray, the film's screenwriters and NBC-Universal. The suit claims the film vilified him and wrongly made his business dealings look shady, claiming he withheld checks, dined on lobster brunches while the group members waited for final contracts and that Eazy-E fired him, among other instances.

Heller says none of this is true and is seeking $110 million in combined compensatory and punitive damages for defamation, copyright infringement, breach of contract and other charges. In the 55-page complaint, Heller alleges that he did not "authorize anyone to use his name" in the film and that the movie "is littered with false statements that harm [his] reputation ... and deter third persons from associating or dealing with him."

R.I.P, there's two sides to a story and unless you were there it's hard to really know what the truth is. For his part he denied certain ish, even Cube said he was a supporter and a believer in the group in those early days. It seems like it was bread that got in the way as usual, but when it comes to splits and finances it can be complicated. I don't know all the details to really comment on that, he didn't come across as evil to me or anything so I can't hate on him, so for now just say R.I.P as would do if Dre, Cube, Eazy or even Eazy's wife passed away, the latter 2 were also accused of similar ish. Jerry certainly helped N.W.A and Eazy at the beginning, and as a fan of Eazy am glad Eazy came through and got to be heard and transition into music and helped create N.W.A, was a catalyst also later for some of Cube and Dre's great solo work, N.W.A had classic records too, so I respect that happening, also his loyalty that he seemed to have for Eazy.

It's odd he would think that, I think the movie and Paul Giamatti humanized him considerably.

Either way, as much as I think his influence and marketing help contribute to the demise of hip-hop in a lot of ways, he did get a bunch of kids out of Compton was an instrumental part of the NWA movement. I do think he genuinely cared about all the artists that he dealt with but business is a complicated world, especially in the rapidly evolving world of hip-hop.

hip hop was gonna grow with or without him or the rick rubins, or malcolm mclaren's of the world. the power of the art was potent and seeking its level of achievement and would have found it one way or the other. for a 74-75 year old to slap a 2015 lawsuit on these artists and widow shows his heart wasn't in the right place, right up to the very end.
