Nobody is touching Jerry's records. He averaged 75 catches a season on a 20 year career that included a strike shortened season and an entire 1997 season lost to injury. He is so insanely far ahead in receiving yards of his peers that it's comical, and he caught I think 40 more touchdowns than moss or Owens. He put up the same numbers when Joe or Steve weren't in the game either. It's not up for debate how much better he was than any received ever. At the position, he's Wayne Gretzky status.

He won two without Rice. One day people are going to have to accept that Montana is the GOAT and Rice is the GOAT. And Young >>>>>> Favre and Aikman

:manny:

Yeah I know he did. I was doing some stuff yesterday when I typed it and didn't have a chance to come back and change it.

Actually I have mentioned on here a few times that Montana is the greatest QB I have ever seen. Dude had mobility, pin point accuracy, toughness, was clutch and almost never threw picks come playoff time.

His only weakness was his size and you could hurt him because he was small.

At his prime you had to basically hurt him in order to beat the 49ers especially in the playoffs.

IMO rice helped Montana play even better (his two MVP season came with rice) and extended his career the same way magic extended Kareem's career.

Also to show Rice's greatness the MVP seasons that Young, Montana and Gannon all had Rice was their number 1 WR.
