The key here is ownership. Seinfield was part owner of the franchise. So he's getting the bulk of the money. Will Smith was paid to act. He didn't own the rights to any of those films.

Same thing happened with Mel Gibson. He made movies for years and was a pretty big star. But it wasn't until he bankrolled Passion of the Christ himself that he became a billionaire.

Not really breh. I Am Legend and Independence Day were wills biggest movies. Had Will OWNED those, he'd be caking heavy. ID made 800 mil worldwide at the box office (not including revenue from DVD sales, streaming sites, premium cable, basic cable, and broadcast TV). It also doesn't include revenue generated from clips of the film being used in commercials for say Coca Cola or something. Had Will actually owned just those two movies, he'd be a billionaire already.
