Jersey/NY folk: Can yall tell each other apart by accent?

As a New York I can’t tell you I can tell Jersey and NYC apart especially since both have many micro dialects. But I can hear a Philly person from across the street.

This is like saying New Orleans and Dallas nikkas sound the same

To my ears, the broad Jersey accent is heavily influenced by Italians. The broad New York accent is influenced my many things, including Italians, but tilts heavily Jewish.

A better question would be can ppl from the boroughs tell each other apart by accent. I can always tell when someone is from brooklyn (son).

I can tell a Bronx accent. It has a bit of a Spanish twang to how they speak, even the Black women there.

NY nikkas tend to exaggerate their vowels in their words and put a lil extra on it

They also have certain vocal inflections at the end of words
