North Wildwood sets a 10 p.m. summer curfew for teens joining other Jersey Shore towns

newjerseyshore.jpg
North Wildwood has passed an ordinance establishing a curfew for those who are under 18, joining other Jersey Shore towns who have set restrictions for teens.
From May 15 through Sept. 15, those underage will not be allowed in public places or businesses without a parent or guardian from 10 p.m.
With this measure, North Wildwood is joining other Shore municipalities such as Toms River, Long Branch, Ocean City, Wildwood and Isle City in establishing similar teen curfews.
From Sept. 16 to May 14, the curfew will be pushed back to 11 p.m. On Halloween night and during the three days leading up to it, the curfew will start at 10 p.m.
Teens would still be able to go to work, events, or activities with adult supervision, and parents can send them on errands at night, as long as they come back home quickly.

Parents who let their kids break curfew will also be held accountable and may have to pay a fine. The first time costs $250 to $500. If it happens again within a year, it's $500 to $1,000. After that, it's $1,000 to $1,500 for each violation in the same timeframe.

Wildwood boardwalk back open after police lift "state of emergency"

May 27, 2024
Wildwood Police issued a state of emergency order and shut down the boardwalk overnight out of an abundance of caution due to "civil unrest." At 6 a.m. Monday, police lifted the order and reopened the boardwalk. Meanwhile in Ocean City, police are investigating after a teen was stabbed on that city's boardwalk Saturday night

not good for low income parents who are struggling to control their rebellious teens. those fines can add up quick
what are they suffering? the horror of having to account for their child's whereabouts?

we need more of this tough love for parents innitiatives.

fukk spilling your dysfunction from your household onto the streets. if you can't raise em don't have em.
