I know when Macho died, he said that he was at some event, and he had to walk out alone by a balcony overlooking a peer and cry. Piper's death hit him pretty hard too because he kept in touch with Roddy. He also kept in touch with Gorilla until a few short days before he died and he was Governor then.
Dude never forgot where he came from even when he got success outside of wrestling.
