Jesus is the sword; "sword" Biblically = word of G-d. And as the brotha Zo mentioned, "sword" = secret word.

Jesus is the Word (or, better yet, secret word of G-d that only those who understand the word will understand the secrets of G-d).

Some proof of this claim in the text itself:

John 1:1-14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.

There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.

The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Now, in word of Jesus Himself:

John 14:6
The Lord Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by Me”
and
John 8:12
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

Before this next verse, definition

Let (verb): "not prevent or forbid; allow."

Genesis 1:3
And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

Makes sense. Some beliefs teach that G-d created the Light. G-d didn't create the Light because He did not create His own Word which is the Light. The Light, like G-d, just is. G-d just allowed Light to exist "here" meaning His Word was used to create everything.

But as shown the quote pertaining to John 1, all "things" - the reality we know, was created through G-d 's Word, the Anointed One, Jesus Christ - G-d 's Word made flesh. So, knowing Jesus, you are able to know G-d. Before my next point, I want to knock down some false ideas people may have regarding the satanic idea of co-existence = peace, and that idea being a moral good. It's not.

To the topic title, the Word cannot co-exist against anything that denies it, because to deny the Word is to deny Life itself. And seeing as G-d's Word is the ultimate truth of everything, how can Jesus bring peace to a world where it's inhabitants deny the Word of G-d? It is a contradiction in logic and attempts to force G-d to lie about His word being truth. A truth and a lie cannot co-exist. G-d's Word cannot co-exist with those that deny it.

So, "peace" doesn't mean co-existing with lies. Jesus came with the secret word (sword) of G-d. And anyone knowing truth and speaking that truth will cause division. It's impossible to maintain truth and live peaceably in a sinful world.
Only the children of Satan tell you, you must co-exist with those that deny G-d and find common ground.
I am not saying you need to harm people, rather, don't accept that others belief systems are of any merit. That doesn't mean you harm, harass, or insult them. Jesus never needed to do such things because the truth of the Word was enough.
Jesus didn't find common ground with the Jews of His day because they rested on the notion that they were G-d's chosen and that's it.

The Jews of His day didn't understand or refused to understand that they were CHOSEN FOR A MISSION!!!! and they refused to carry it out (they refused G-d's Word and chose to live a lie), and because of this abdication of responsibility, the Christians (followers of the Anointed One, Jesus Christ) are the chosen elect.

So, what does this mean for us, believers?

Jesus said our chief aim in this small time on earth is to be more like Him, like G-d. I.e., we must be learning the word and carrying out G-d's will = understanding the word so we can increase in our understanding of G-d, and then share that understanding with others, and help other believers grow in the faith.

Those that follow the Word of G-d, and maintain a sinless life - a life of faith & growth, will ultimately bring G-d, His Word (Jesus Christ), and His essence/faith agent (Holy Spirit) within themselves.

Y'all find anything wrong with my logic?

Are you Jewish or converted/practicing Orthodox Judaism? We don’t say “G-d” if you’re Christian

Jesus meant that his message and principles would cause division and persecution from non-believers and by aligning yourself with Jesus, you will face oppression and opposition from family members, friends and even your spouse because spiritually speaking, you will have almost nothing in common with them anymore because you are in the world, but not apart of it. John 17:14-16

As soon as I got saved and became Christian I literally had a very close family member of mine (we literally been through everything together and we always had each others back) switch up on me overnight and we became enemies for a while.

Monotheism is a technology in Age of Empires that allows Priests to convert other Priests and buildings (excluding Town Centers, walls, and Wonders).

as far as the term "sword" it is literal and metaphysical. Unbelievers in the Old Testaments message will never understand Shamgar...

Thats why David slew Goliath without a sword
