There are a number of religious texts that predate the bible that would contradict this. I wonder how we would know which one is the correct one?
As a born again Christian I have experienced God for my self so I know the bible is the correct one, I encourage you to try to do the same then you will know for yourself too.

If I were a Muslim, and encouraged you to try Allah because I too have felt his presence through the study of Islam, would you do it? Why then would you expect me to buy into what you believe? Why do religious people always wanna convert everyone? You guys are annoying as shyt, man. Just believe what you want and leave the rest of us alone.

I agree with this...I've been involved with religious chicks before (or rather chicks who later on decided to be religious) and it was nothing but a huge headache. Most likely she'll just parrot whatever her preacher says so I wouldn't bother even having that convo.

Logic is ineffective against religious people...after all, if they were susceptible to logic then they wouldn't be religious in the first place. :troll:
New sig. Sans troll. :ehh:

My pops is one of the most hardcore logical dudes I know and he's christian. It's funny because he generally agrees that majority of the Bible is fishy but he sticks with Christianity because he likes going to church and it's what he grew up with....From the conversations I've had with him, I think he is a deist but he doesn't know it.

First off you quoted me and asked me a question, you came to me not the other way around.
Second i'm talking about a lot more than feeling a presence. I'm talking about heart felt communication and seeing God do wonders, like seeing unfakable miracles.
if you don't want to be a Christian I will not force my beliefs on you, nor have I ever forced my beliefs on anyone.
If you want to discuss this that is fine but require the same amount of respect that I am showing to you.

I never said you forced anything on me, but with ya'll there's always that little sales pitch, right? "Just tryyyyyy Jesus, you'll like it I promise."
I never disrespected you (intentionally), I asked you a question. If I were a Muslim and said that I too had seen "miracles" and attributed them to Allah, would you abandon your beliefs for mine? Of course you wouldn't. And by your response, you were borderline offended by the idea. Just know that's what it sounds like / feels like every time you try to recruit someone.

Read them. The Bible was written primarily as a critique of those pre-existing theologies.

The first bolded is what was disrespectful.
You obviously have had a previous experience with Christians and judging by what you have written you are projecting that.
From the rest of the bolded You assume that I am recruiting.
I was only answering YOUR question.
I cant through message board tell you which religion has the right text, the only thing I can say is try it for yourself.

Unfortunately there are dishonest people in the world that will try to fake and imitate the real thing.
Just like there are people that will try to sell a fake Rolex or a Louis Vouton bag, that doesn't mean that all Rolex's you see are fake.
