The guys mentioned, Delly, Gee, Livingston, I don't remember who else. This is a better excuse for the team not winning. For good point guards, assist numbers don't go away on bad teams. Its not like he would have had 10-12 assists and guys just missed their shots.

None of the above could shoot or finish in the paint.

Delly rarely played with Kyrie his first year. That's how I know you weren't watching that sorry ass team.

I don't have an agenda of wanting to believe Kyrie is an elite passer. When people rip his passing, you could just point out that he scores more than most of the guys with more assists. If you want to go with the "he had bums who couldn't finish or shoot", then maybe we should be saying his scoring numbers are inflated :manny:

He is what he is. He's a scoring guard who excels at one on one play. The Goldilicks and the three bears arguments that he needs more scorers but they can't be so good to where they take the ball out of his hands...:yeshrug: fukk it, the porridge will never be the right temperature for him to put up Paul or Rondo assist numbers.

While he won't average CP/Rondo assist #s with better scorers, he will average a respectable enough amount to keep dudes from regurgitating casual fan talking points about his play. This is the irony about it all: he outplayed and provided more for his team's offense than the PG whom he's not only perceived as the polar opposite of [Rondo], but a PG who plays within the laws of what a PG should be doing.

Kyrie is great for the highlight reels.

But he plays hero ball like 100% of the time. When it works great, when it doesn't it usually results in a forced bad shot from one of his teammates.

He's still got a lot of learning to do

Max out a PG who still has a lot of learning to do after a half-decade in the league brehs.
