I was at the game. It’s a bad combination of Zach Wilson, and atrocious receiving core, and unimaginative OC.

I think Douglas really put the team in a bad spot not picking up a veteran QB immediately after they confirmed Rodgers popped his Achilles. Not only is Wilson horrible, he’s also really fragile. Even Baker Mayfield is looking like a viable QB through 2 games this season.

If he can progress, I suppose anything is possible.

But Zach Wilson hasn’t even shown flashes of being a competent NFL quarterback out there.

Sure, they went into the season expecting for Aaron Rodgers to lead them. But nothing should have led them to believe Wilson was even a good backup in a worst case scenario.

I’m not sure who they could bring in now that could absorb the system fast enough to save their season, but I suppose they have to try someone.

Rodgers is 39. At best he’s gonna be around 2-3 years max. I get Tua’s checkered medical history but I think the route to starting is far easier here, especially since he was beloved with the team(I don’t see any of his Miami teammates wearing Mike White t-shirts)

Speaking of Rodgers…. The only thing stupider than building your team around a 39 year old QB is building your team around a 40 year old QB coming off a major surgery. The Jets really need to draft a QB with their #1 this year; you can have Rodgers around for 2024 with the kid, let him learn, the chips fall where they may and you’ve hopefully passed the torch on to someone who can actually play.
