Not a surprising answer to me. A couple of years ago he kind of affirmed what Brandon Marshall said about white players being treated differently (better) than black players. He did say Marshall should be "smart" about what he says though.

New York Jets coach Todd Bowles said Brandon Marshall should be smarter with the comments he chooses to make after the wide receiver said race may have played a role in Tom Brady’s suspension being overturned.

Marshall said many NFL players think “the race card” was a factor in Brady's four-game suspension being overturned on Showtime's “Inside the NFL,” where he serves as a regular panelist, on Tuesday night.

“I think his opinion is well-warranted with what he said,” Bowles said, according to USA Today. “Back when I played, I’ve seen some things, just like he has seen some things. But I’m not on that platform and he is. He has got to be smarter.”
Bowles: Marshall should be smarter with comments

His job is gone after the season, but I'm sure he'll find another assistant job. Dude seems very serious and no-nonsense, like many black coaches (Caldwell comes to mind). That demeanor could either suggest a "protect the shield" mentality, or a "real talk" mentality. Clearly he's in the latter camp and I'm glad.

Funny thing is that none of this would even be a topic if Kaep wasn't blackballed. If he had a job there would be FAR less focus on the issue, fewer people would be kneeling, etc. The NFL tried to silence players and instead made this even louder.

I always respected Bowels since his days in Arizona. He even made Cromartie look like a good corner.

He's out after this season though, the scapegoat. He's too good not to get another job, but you never know if these good ol boys will ban him too.

Don't absolve him of the shyt fest that is the Jets right now. He has plenty to do with it.

Is the QB situation his fault?

Is the decision to tank his fault?

If Fitz hadn't shyt the bed at the end of 15', they'd have made the playoffs. Then that clown Fitz held out until August, and the team stunk last year.
