Whether Dame Dash said it or not, the statement is true. I'm sure many people think of the black community that way.
Think about it, we literally support immigrant populations with our spending habits. Think about how many Asians we support. Think about how many Indians and Arabs we support. Now, how "successful" do you think those same groups would be if black people decided NOT to buy their weave, use their dry cleaners, eat in their dirty Chinese restaurants and not patronize their corner stores? They wouldn't be nearly as successful.
And what's worse is that these same people who live off our money don't even think we're on the same human scale as they are in many cases. Yet we keep just giving them our money. I usually avoid these establishments like the plague, but a few weeks ago I needed change for the meter while at the barbershop.
I went to the Chinese corner store and the way I was treated just cemented why I will never support such stores. The woman behind the thick plexiglass smacked her hand against the counter for me tell her what I wanted. I gave her a strong look and told her not to do that and to give me change. She changed her tone. But going forward, I would rather leave and not get my hair cut, then support a store like that even just to get change for a dollar. There's no reason black people should allow that kind of treatment in their own neighbohoods by people who need their patronage to survive!
Black people must think its a coincidence that these people who can barely speak any English no exactly where to go all over the US and Canada to find black people. Its no coincidence at all.
