I’ve unfortunately worked enough retail/grocery stores to know it’s not policy at every store. They may give it to you for that price, but it’s not policy across the board.

Also people think something is free because it doesn’t have a price on it

Sometimes people switch prices...

The register price maters and then you can show the ad/circular price as being official and you been good since the Kmart days.

That’s not official policy everywhere. People be switching barcodes and labels trying to scam.

Is a misconception that they have to honour the price labelled. It is, at the end of the day, an invitation to treat.

That's not in their policy. Maybe it's state policy, but many stores do that for customer service satisfaction. They'll say it's a mistake, apologize, and disclose the real price. Then you make an informed and beneficial decision. The manager might honor the mislabeled price because it'll make the customer return. But Jim wanted to show off for likes.

Should the manager called the cops? Hell no. If a person is arguing with you about the price of locks, they damn sure aren't a threat. Annoying as hell, but not a threat.

I think Jimmy's confusing it with price match, where if the same thing is priced at one store, they will match that price.

I never heard of getting the price of something if one of the employees put the wrong price on that thing

Above the fray.
Jones is a clown.
Not sure how many people here still shop in person for items, but in the display shelves, the products are listed by name, item number, and price.

As below, on the shelves is a white info box for each item

That is the correct info.

If there's ever a dispute, that is the info that confirms the store price, not necessarily the price tag.

nikka arguing over $78 locks he down bad.

:francis:

:russ: regular price is 79.99

Also, I know this from experience, they do not match their online price. I got my fridge from there and it was 800.00 cheaper online than in store. I had to sit up there at the customer service desk, buy the fridge on the website while I was in the store and then wait for somebody to bring it to me.
